The Role
To support families who are International New Arrivals with accessing school places. Completing school application forms for children and carrying out initial needs assessments. Supporting children with their transition into schools across Bolton, assessing children’s English language skills by carrying out EAL assessments and providing EAL support to children in lessons when they start school.
About You
You will be someone with experience of working with EAL children in a classroom setting with an understanding and working knowledge of strategies to support children who are new to English. A person who can plan activities and deliver them to groups of EAL children who do not speak any English or on a 1 to 1 basis using a range of EAL strategies and be able to assess their competency in English. Someone who is able to work as part of a team as well as independently. Someone who is able to travel to schools across Bolton.
