We are looking for caring, nurturing (term time only) Learning Support Assistants who are committed to supporting children's learning both in the classroom and at lunchtime.
Our ideal candidates will have experience in working with young children. Also to have experience of working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADD/ADHD or dyslexia in a school setting would be desirable but is not essential. .

Salary: £33,594 - £50,589
Hours: 35 per week

An opportunity has arisen for a class teacher to join our team until June 2025. This role will teach a Primary 7 class.

Towerbank Primary is a large, happy and successful school situated very close to the beach in Portobello. Towerbank is a cornerstone of the community and is very well supported by families.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Teacher of Spanish, dedicated to sharing their passion for the subject with the students they teach. They will join a strong, close-knit and supportive team of experts, who are fun, welcoming and creative. The successful candidate will be confident in teaching Spanish across a range of ages and abilities. Being able to additionally teach German at KS3 would be advantageous but is not essential. They may be an ECT or a more experienced teacher.

• To provide high quality teaching and enable effective use of resources and high standards of learning and achievement for students within an atmosphere in which students feel challenged, valued and secure.
• To teach the subjects, classes and groups as allocated by the Head of Department and the Leadership Team.
• To support and participate in the curriculum development work of the department including the writing of schemes of work and programmes of study.
• To be a form tutor and take responsibility for the progress, welfare and guidance of a group of students.
• To set homework on a regular basis, assess and mark promptly.
• To assess, monitor, record and report on student achievement in line with the school and the department policy including writing student reports and attending parents’ evenings.
