We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized data engineer to join our team. In this position, you will use your skills with database technologies to create and maintain various aspects of data warehousing, data lakes, Cloud-based Storage, Computing platforms, data integration and Big Data technologies.
What You’ll Get to Do:
The position requires working collaboratively with government personnel to troubleshoot, develop and maintain various data sets in support of the US Navy.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience providing the following:
Experience in one or more Programming Languages:
Experience with Database Technologies:
Relational database management system (RDBMS) (e.g. PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and SQLite).
SQL (Structured Query Language)
NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
ETL (extract, transform, load) framework.
RESTful Services and APIs
Experience with Data Warehousing and Data Lakes:
Develop, design, and analyze data architecture and data warehouses.
ETL (extract, transform, load) framework.
Data modeling.
Designing and building data pipelines using tools like Apache NiFi and Apache Kafka.
Experience with Data Integration:
Understanding of one or more Big Data Technologies:
Apache Hive
Apache Hadoop
Apache Spark
Apache Kafka
Cloudera Data Platform
Experience with one or more Cloud-based Storage and Computing Platforms:
Microsoft Azure
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Understanding of the Git version control system.
Experience with one or more Data Visualization tools:
Microsoft Power BI
Tableau
Oracle BI
Experience developing in the following Operating Systems:
