Overview of role
Location: Liverpool Hotplate
We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the Liverpool Hotplate team and support our Engineering agenda. The role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer is a varied and challenging one and the ideal candidate will be able to carry out proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to the plant and services associated with a major bakery. Responsibilities also involve improving and maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring that team members are fully aware and comply with all Health and Safety standards, company and legal requirements eg: Isolation and Lock Off, Permit to Work, COSSH and HACCP.
This is a day based role that also includes providing holiday cover for the four shift electricians who work a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern (2 days and 2 nights).
Key Accountabilities
You will be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment; you will be expected to diagnose faults and install, repair, inspect, calibrate and overhaul plant / machinery electrically as well as mechanically to maximise machine availability and ensure continuous improvements within the plant and facilities in compliance with Health and Safety, GMP and best-proactive guidelines and procedures to ensure right first time processing of manufactured products.
Other duties include:
- To maintain a safe working environment through the use of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Clean as You Go (CAYG), Hazard reporting and Point of Work Risk Assessment procedures.
- To support the manufacturing process and maximise plant availability by responding safely and effectively to plant breakdowns, carry out scheduled maintenance work and being proactive in the correction and modification of reoccurring machine faults
- To ensure that machinery is maintained and repaired to a high standard
- To fault find in a safe and effective manner, to identify root cause of plant breakdowns.
- To work along side and have harmonious relations with operational staff and to work flexibly with them.
- To ensure that the findings of inspections, reporting of faults and the completion of all scheduled work is reported on the Computer Maintenance Management System.
Plus, any other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the role. The above list of accountabilities is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake duties as may be reasonably expected.
The Right Person
We are looking for a fully qualified (time served) Electrical Maintenance Engineer with industry experience, ideally with mechanical / multi-skilled ability as well. The ideal candidate will:
- have experience in FMCG environment, ideally food sector
- have excellent analytical skills and be PC literate
- have PLC and servo drive diagnostic (Mitsubishi) experience
- have basic food hygiene experience
- be a team player and have excellent communication skills
- be flexible and co-operative to assist in meeting business needs.
