Your new role
You will be joining a team of engineers and have responsibility for efficient maintenance of the production plant on site. You will perform fault diagnosis and resolve failures on production machinery such as automation, electrical and mechanical issues. You will keep accurate records reporting and recording maintenance via the site CMMS (SAP), escalating any maintenance issues where necessary. As a team, you will drive maintenance continuous improvement via preventative maintenance activities, equipment checks and repairs.

What you'll need to succeed
You will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, have experienced gained within a manufacturing environment, experience of working with automation, PLCs, fault-finding and diagnostics, experience of CMMS systems, (Ideally SAP) root cause analysis, preventative/planned maintenance optimisation.

Multi Skilled Electrical Engineer
Salford - 42 Hours Perm Contract
Shift Role working 4 on, 4 off Days & Nights
Salary Range - £33,000 - £36,000 plus 10% shift allowance

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our major Facilities Management clients for a Multi Skilled Electrical Engineer to join their team working on a large scale contract in Salford Quays. This is a shift role that would be a fantastic move for an individual looking to go further in their electrical career.


You will be carrying out planned and reactive maintenance of both plant and building equipment as well as any further building work such as fabric and mechanical, as required. You will also:

• Carry out the principles of Health & Safety and takes personal responsibility for safety and work well with others to get a job done and respond positively to instructions and procedures.
• Provide excellent communication and customer service to the client and follow all company procedures, including following all company health and safety requirements.
• You will ensure the correct operation of all M&E assets within all sites.
• Identify further opportunities for completion whilst undertaking existing reactive WOs, completing other jobs operating a 360 degree view when you walk onto the Client's site.

The ideal candidate will have the below:

• A recognised Electrical Engineering qualification (18th edition), testing and inspection 2391 or equivalent.
• Experience with PPM and Reactive works as well as fault-finding on control circuits.
• Knowledge of electrical services and systems.
• Been appointed as LV AP or can demonstrate sufficient knowledge and understanding of the role.
• Experience in General Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Risk Assessment and Method Statement trained.
• A strong understanding of industry safety standards and procedures.

Your new role
As a Principal EC&I Engineer within the team, you will have the option to work across numerous industries, or focus on a select few. With many projects coming, you will be a key member of the project delivery team for a range of challenging projects ranging from small to significant scale and complexity. Your primary role will be to generate EC&I designs and specifications as part of a multidisciplinary design team. A few responsibilities are listed below:

• Contribute towards and lead EC&I packages of work as part of multidisciplinary projects
• Work closely with clients to fully meet their requirements and develop repeated work through excellent performance and quality
• To develop EC&I knowledge and skills, to be an in-house technical expert through experience and learning, supported by formal training

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will have significant (8-10 years) experience in EC&I design and overseeing the delivery of the full project lifecycle. Desirable experience would be experience operating in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries with knowledge of hazardous area equipment selection and installation design requirements. Being a Chartered Engineer is desired. If not Chartered, they will support you through the process.
