About The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Based Electrical Engineer to join our team on a full time permanent basis, for one of the biggest shopping centres in the South. This role will involve working a variable shift pattern rota of 40 hours per week. One weekend out of every five weeks, with late shifts twice a week - Monday to Friday around client trading hours.

The main area of focus for this role will be Electrical Engineering however occasionally you will also be required to carry out general maintenance and statutory compliance checks and will be required to have basic plumbing and fabric maintenance skills, ideally with experience working in a commercial setting.

The role will require client engagement and a willingness to provide the best possible solutions to meet the client's needs, so you will be required to maintain a smart appearance. You must have a good understand of both spoken and written English.

Early starts and late finishes may be required as part of this role to allow for disruptive works to be completed with minimal disruption to the client. The role also requires you to be able to think proactively arranging materials, providing information for quotations, and managing the clients' expectations

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Planning, inspecting, and carrying out repairs or preventative maintenance as required and responding to breakdowns in a timely fashion.
• Carry out reactive and planned services in a range of environments from offices, commercial, distribution and industrial premises.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• You must have the right to work in the UK
• Ideal C&G Qualified in electrical discipline (18th Edition)
• Must be IT literate to a good standard using Microsoft Word, Excel etc
• NVQ 3 or relevant higher-level qualification in a building discipline
• Experience in a comparable role undertaking basic plumbing, carpentry, redecoration tasks and carrying out statutory ppm inspections with a good understanding of Health & Safety working practices
• Understanding of planned preventative maintenance regimes
• Experience of completing risk assessments and method statements
• Experience using BMS system.
• Knowledge of maintenance schedules and SFG 20 would be desirable
• This is a customer facing role therefore strong customer service skills are required

We are looking for Rehabilitation Engineers to join our current team. The posts will be based between The Wheelchair and Special Seating Service, Bristol Centre for Enablement (BCE) at Cribbs Causeway, Bristol and the Gloucestershire Wheelchair and Assessment Service, at the Independent Living Centre in Cheltenham.

It is essential that all candidates must be registered with the Register of Clinical Technologists as a Rehabilitation Engineer, or The Academy for Healthcare Science Register as a Rehabilitation / Clinical Engineer or the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Scientist.

Relevant experience working in a wheelchair and seating service is essential. We are looking for someone who is flexible, with a professional attitude and the ability to meet the requirements of the post. Teamwork with other technical staff and the therapy team is an important element of this role. Also the ability to work alone to problem solve clients requirements.

This is a full time post but flexible working and alternative hours may be considered.

A full driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for work purposes is required to enable travel around the area covered by the service.

Job Purpose

• Undertake maintenance and reactive activity to a wide range of Mechanical and Electrical Building Services equipment including but not limited to general lighting, building controls, small power and distribution heating, boilers, pumps, sanitary ware, fan coil and air handling units and BMS systems and other equipment found, in modern commercial/industrial premises.
• Be an essential part of the local team who will ensure the safe operation and repair of all M&E building services and fabric equipment on the site.
• Take part in a rota to provide a reactive maintenance service outside operating hours of the site.
• To undertake weekend/out of hours work to complete intrusive maintenance activities that cannot be undertaken in client operating hours.
• Working in line with the Permit to Work System.
• To implement systems that will ensure a plant is maintained and operated to its optimum efficiency.
• Participate in departmental energy saving schemes and promote the understanding and importance of the economical use of energy.
• Take part in Appraisals/Performance Reviews including the recognition of training and development needs.
• Monitor site performance of subcontractors and report poor performance.

• Conduct tasks in line with Conformance Engineering principles, leading to a reduction in the Cost of Non-Quality by generation of business KPI’s and analysis of trends
