Leidos Dynetics Group is seeking a talented Radar Signal Processing Engineering Intern to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex sensor and radar orientated problems. We have offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. This position within Dynetics’ Advanced Technology Integration department affords new or experienced engineers continued opportunities to learn and grow in technical knowledge of sensor and radar systems. The department encourages and frequently incorporates new ideas from all employees into our many sensor projects which span the entire DoD ecosystem. Opportunities for advancement into senior technical roles, as well as project or personnel management are also available.
You will support Advanced Technology Radar and EW programs including research and development of advanced digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms; high-fidelity radar and RF modeling, simulation, and analysis; integration and field testing of RF sensors and systems; and CONUS/OCONUS deployment of advanced sensor systems. The Engineer in this role is expected to quickly immerse into radar and sensor phenomenology and our existing tools and models to begin contributing to new features.
You will also be assigned a variety of tasks related to signal processing, measurement tracker processing, system performance metrics, sensor simulation, or utility tools as part of larger efforts or customer goals. In this role your organizational skills will be paramount and managing multiple tasks while ensuring the work remains compatible with the group’s larger codebases.
Basic Qualification
-Candidate must possess or in the process of achieving a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics from an ABET-accredited school.
Must have excellent math skills and/or possess and show good fundamentals in one or more of the following:
· Signals and systems
· Digital signal processing
· Tracking algorithms
· Electromagnetics
Should be able to apply one or more of these skills to the areas of radar modeling & simulation, antenna array theory, digital signal processing, tracking, algorithm development, and field testing of sensor systems.
Demonstrated experience in understanding, evaluating, and implementing published scientific literature from sources such as IEEE is highly valued.
Experience working with Matlab, Python, or similar scientific-based programming tools to implement math or scienced based phenomenology related to linear systems, digital signal processing, tracking, or electromagnetics are valued. Further experience in high performance computing languages such as C++ is highly valued.
Experience working on a team of 3 or more on a project which utilizes collaboration tools such as GIT, JIRA, or similar tools are valued.
Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL area. This position is in person only.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $37,050.00 - $66,975.00
