Regional Supply Chain Manager (Chemical Distribution business)
Our client is a leading European chemical and polymer distributor and has its presence in Singapore as a regional HQ for Asian countries.
Responsibilities
You should have knowledge of a distributor run business and someone strong in Inventory planning. Regional Role - SEA level with 20+ Team members.
The Supply Chain Manager’s role is to lead and manage a team of supply chain, customer service and back office operations, provide leadership for all aspects of inventory management, operational process improvement and resources within the distribution channel.
The Supply Chain Manager leads and drive initiatives, performance indicators, budget and cost reduction analyses, inventory management/optimization, and innovative process improvement while ensuring high level customer service to service line and supply chain leadership and behavioural proficiencies in order to deliver high impact business results.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy plan in distribution environment through 3rd party service provider
- Optimise the workflow within the customer service and supply chain team
- Identify process bottleneck and problematic areas, provide and implement solutions in a timely manner -
- Develop and determine key performance indicators and metrics in the requirements and standards
- Collaborate with commercial and finance team for the best vendors and distributors
- Inventory management to ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and meet the direct demand from customers
- Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock Coordinate inventory audits
- Manage and reconcile inventory with 3rd party service provider
- Optimise the most cost-effective shipping/land/sea modes and schedules
- Evaluate 3rd party service providers’ operations according to quality standards
- Track key performance indicators and report on supply chain’s performance Ensure practices and processes are robust
- Resource management including providing leadership and coaching to the team
- Drive culture of continuous improvement and provide constructive feedback
- Build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
Requirements :
- Minimum of 8 years and above in similar capacity with supply chain/customer service operational experience
- Hands on experience in management capacity leading a team of supply chain, customer service and back office operations
- Familiarity with supply chain processes and 3rd party service providers Experience in formulating action plans, performance metrics and inventory control for supply chain and customer service
- Demonstrable experience of working with stakeholders in a positive and collaborative manner Excellent leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Team player with critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills across all levels, harnessed to the ability to influence colleagues (all levels) and customers
