Senior Project Manager - Architecture and Engineering

As Senior Project Manager for Architecture/Engineering at NewYork-Presbyterian, you’ll lead mechanical and electrical infrastructure projects such as replacing major equipment in our existing facilities, that impact the lives of thousands of patients each year. Prioritize, plan, coordinate, implement and administer capital construction projects on an enterprise wide basis to ensure effective program development and project execution. Lead, develop and manage a team of PMs, and by extension, design teams composed of architects and specialty engineering services. Provide guidance in the creation of project plans, project scope, budgets, client approach and design team management. This role is a Director level role with direct reports.

This is a full time position that will have oversight on projects connected to the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Columbia University Irving Medical Center sphere.

Required Criteria 

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or Design and Construction
• Minimum of 10 years of directly related experience
• Previous healthcare design and/or construction or engineering experience 
• Proficiency in Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint and Project Management Information Systems

• Proficiency in Unifier and Microsoft Project systems

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Associate Director, Platform Engineering will have the responsibility of people leadership (badged 5/3 employees), with all the responsibilities that people management and leadership entail and will interact and influence leaders across the organization drawing connections to all strategic priorities. The main responsibilities will include developing and coaching employees, removing impediments to performance, developing ways to enable collaboration, being a leader of the platform engineering craft, sharing best practices and executing strategies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and coach employees to meet the needs of the organization while balancing personal development of the employee.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include, but are not limited to performance management, focused investment in people growth and direction, feedback coaching and disciplinary activities (if needed), succession planning, recognition of employees, etc.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Typically, will have at least eight (8) years of hands-on experience in their particular craft.

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experiences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
