Senior Engineer / Sub Agent - Leading Civils Contractor - Kent & East Sussex

My client is a Leading Civil Engineering Company.

They are presently looking to recruit, on a permanent basis, a Senior Engineer / Sub Agent to work on projects in their Southeastern Region which broadly covers Kent and East Sussex.

The successful candidate will have experience of delivering civil engineering projects.

The nature of the work that this contractor varies but their core sectors include;

• Highways and Bridges
• Section 278 Development Infrastructure
• Environment Agency Works
• Coastal & Marine
• Nuclear
• Water & Wastewater
• Public Realm
• Earthworks & Ground Remediation
• Piling & Foundations

My client would currently consider individuals who are already in a Sub Agent role, or those who are in a more junior role (Site Engineer / Section Engineer) that are looking to transition into this type of position.

Sub Agent duties include assisting the Site Agent with the successful and timely delivery of the projects:

• Advising the engineering team with solutions to technical challenges
• Assist in production and integration of 3-week programmes
• Manage designs from the inhouse and external designers
• Support the project team with construction methodology and sequencing
• Collaborate with the project team on resource, plant and material requirements
• Training and mentoring the junior members of the engineering team
• Demonstrate value engineering throughout the construction process
• Managing RFI's and Technical Queries

Colleague Support Engineer

Salary: Up to £25,725

FT – 35 hours per week

Hybrid – Ashford 2 days a month in office

Working as one of our Colleague Support Engineers, your responsibilities will be:

• Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.
• Providing first lines of technology support to the business user community.
• Working closely with all areas of the Technology team to identify and resolve problems affecting service delivery.
• Resolving problems where feasible and/or owning the problem resolution (liaising with third parties as appropriate) until solution, ensuring that the business users are regularly informed of progress.
• Recognising issues and escalating appropriately, according to procedures, to both the Technology team and other areas of the business.
• Liaising with internal and external bodies, including user groups, business supervisors, Technical Consultants, Strategic Planning, Project Managers and IT consultants.
• Communicating technology support issues effectively to the business by translating of technical jargon into layman’s terms.
• Monitoring machine and application performance and recognising and raising issues with the business, Services and Technology teams as appropriate.
• Working within any SLAs agreed with management and various areas of the business.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business to make sure my team and I support Saga’s strategic initiatives.
• Creating and maintaining technical and process documentation.
• Taking support requests on the phone & through webchat.
• Managing my own queue of work in Service Now within the SLA requirements.
• Maintaining a reasonable CSAT rate and providing an exceptional level of customer service.
• Monitoring and managing a shared mailbox.
• Managing my own workload and using my initiative to complete tasks and training during off-peak times.

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills and experience;

• Communication skills
• Strong customer service capability. Experience working in customer service is favorable
• Able to work methodically under pressure.
• Good analytical skills, able to use data to determine the cause of incidents, and able to act on this data to resolve incidents
• Experience working on an IT Service Desk within a corporate environment is beneficial
• A basic level of awareness of the ITIL service management processes including incident, problem and change management is useful.

Quality Assurance Engineer (12 Month FTC)

The Quality Assurance team play an integral role in our Insurance business ensuring an ever-improving experience for both our colleagues and customers.

As a QA Engineer you will be responsible for estimating, designing and executing test case scenarios to meet acceptance criteria and business needs. There will be a level of scripting, and executing automation test scripts as well as demonstrating the benefits of extended and expanded use of automated tools, allowing effective, efficient, and quality testing that delivers savings against manual testing. As QA Engineer you will be responsible for contributing to world class testing and assurance capability in support of our key business systems and services.

Your accountabilities will include;

• Constant communication with Scrum Coordinator, test, and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the changes, testing objectives, and progress.
• Contribute to sprint planning sessions and challenge acceptance criteria specifications where appropriate.
• Generate and maintain scripts to perform automated testing cycles that fulfil business requirements.
• Identify known defects and include scenarios in test scripts to reduce risk of these.
• Document, track and escalate defects in development packages as appropriate.

As one of our QA Engineers, you will need to be naturally curious and passionate about driving change from a customer-centric point of view.

Having a good knowledge of HTML, and Xpaths, as well as scripting and coding, would be an advantage.
