The role
As a Project Engineer - Strategic Systems, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary working with the MoD on our strategic systems for in-service submarines. You will have the opportunity to impact/influence change within the business, working within a dynamic/diverse team of a variety of skills sets which has influenced the outputs of the team.
Day-to-day, you'll work within the Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) Directorate, to ensure the continuous support of our in-service fleet.
- Provide technical solutions and work package / project management in the delivery of the project
- Apply engineering and domain knowledge competently to achieve contracted outputs
- Deliver tasking for which you are responsible and accountable for the timeliness and quality of outputs and Deliverables
- Support the ongoing growth and development of the business
- Maintain the highest standards of conduct and customer relations with various internal and external stakeholders
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Project Engineer - Strategic Systems:
- Understanding of Project Life Cycle management, from concept through to disposal
- Previous experience either working within Project Management or Engineering disciplines/industries
- Experience of utilising MS Projects would be beneficial
- Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
- Having a systematic approach and problem solving mindset
Qualifications for the Project Engineer - Strategic Systems:
- Hold a degree in an Engineering or Project Management subject, or demonstrable experience
- Have professional registration with an engineering institution (or working towards) is beneficial
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
