Our client in the Technology Industry, is looking for a First Line Support Engineer to play a crucial role in providing first-line technical support to clients, troubleshooting software-related problems, and ensuring seamless installation and configuration of software products.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a First Line Support Engineer your key duties will include:
•Providing prompt and effective first-line technical support to clients via phone, email, and remote desktop sessions
•Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving software-related problems and technical issues
•Assisting clients with the installation and initial configuration of software products
•Keeping up-to-date with the latest software updates and features, sharing knowledge with clients
•Escalating complex issues to the 2nd Line Support teams
•Offering basic training to clients on using the software effectively
•Maintaining accurate records of client interactions, technical issues, and resolutions
•Assisting in testing new software releases and updates to identify and report bugs

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be considered for the role of First Line Support Engineer, you must have:
•Previous experience within a Technical Support role or someone with IT qualifications who is looking for their first IT role
•Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
•The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
•Self-motivated with a positive attitude
•Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail.

Trainee Field Service Engineer - 2 Year FTC progressing to perm

Location: Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire

Principal Purpose
Currently training to become a Field Service Engineer (FSE), providing technical services and support for medical technology equipment and software solutions. Capable of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and meeting their requirements and expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair, Installation & Service: Train in the repair, installation, and servicing of medical technology equipment and associated software solutions.
• Technical Issue Resolution: Accurately diagnose and resolve technical issues related to equipment, software applications, IT networks, servers, and cloud-based technologies.
• Remote Support: Provide remote troubleshooting and repair services, ensuring quick and efficient issue resolution.
• Lifecycle Management: Support product and solution lifecycle management, from site surveys to decommissioning and disposal.
• Product & Software Modifications: Implement product updates, modifications, and regulatory updates (FCA's).
• Technical Expertise Development: Gain advanced knowledge and understanding of products and solutions through training and practical experience.
• Travel & Efficiency: Willingness to travel and stay away from home to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Collaboration with 2nd-Level Support: Communicate effectively with second-level support teams to report and resolve technical issues, sharing knowledge with engineers to improve service efficiency.
• Stock Management: Effectively manage car boot stock to reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and improve First Time Fix Rate (FTFR).
• Customer Engagement: Maintain high levels of customer engagement, manage expectations, and promote service offerings, ensuring effective communication at all levels.
• Brand Representation: Act as a brand ambassador, embodying professionalism and delivering exceptional service.

Requirements:

• Technical Apprenticeship (completed) or HNC or higher in technical qualification such as electronics, engineering, IT, or scientific qualification.
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Permitted to work throughout UK and Ireland; able to travel to Germany and USA for training.

Your new companyYou will be working for a well established and growing manufacturing business with a site based in Gloucester. The business produces quality products used across many industries and operates their production facility on a 24/7 basis. Due to their growth and their continuous production, they are looking for an additional Maintenance Engineer to join on a triple days shift pattern, Mornings 6-2; afternoons 2-10 and evenings 10-6.
Your new roleAs a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for upkeeping the smooth operation of maintenance for the business's manufacturing equipment. You will play a pivotal role as part of the maintenance team where you will deliver on both planned maintenance and reactive maintenance activities.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Perform reactive and preventative maintenance
• Repair and diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic issues with machinery
• Adhering to health and safety protocols
• Continuous improvement of maintenance procedures
• Helping to improve planned maintenance activities to reduce machinery downtime
• Liaising and assisting with maintenance colleagues and supporting apprentices
• Be involved in maintenance projects

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful, you will need to:

• Be an apprenticeship trained Maintenance Engineer in a relevant engineering field
• Have a few years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment
• Have the ability to work well in a team
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail
• Be able to effectively perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, strong candidates will be those who are multi-skilled. But candidates who have more of an electrical or mechanical bias will also be considered.
