We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer specialising in dams and/or river engineering who will lead, support and mentor during the design of our dams and reservoir programme of works. We work in fully integrated project teams, with technical specialists supporting across those teams, providing you with the opportunity to work across multiple project types within the water sector.

You will:

- Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects through the outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover, including, but not limited to, P&IDs, valve schedules, pump calculations, defining safe access and lifting arrangements, above ground pipework layouts, etc.
- Coordinate with the project team comprising Electrical, Civil, Geotech, Process etc designers and ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and to the quality defined by Severn Trent Water specifications.
- Build positive relationships with the Severn Trent Water Technical Assurance team and promote a "one-team" approach.
- Support and mentor less experienced members of the team.
- Regular visits to your project sites which may be across the Severn Trent Region (costs incurred are recoverable).


Candidate Specification:

- IMechE accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Chartered member of the IMechE or ability to demonstrate progress made toward membership.
- Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects.

As Lead Design Engineer for Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) you will be working in a creative and challenging environment, managing a range of projects within waste water treatment programme of works. Role Overview:
I am on the lookout for a Senior Field Service Engineer who is eager to advance in the biomass sector. It's an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient individual with a solid foundation in Commercial Plumbing & Heating and/or the Commercial Electrical Industry. Full Specialised training in biomass systems will be provided, so experience in that area is not required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and a desire for growth.

As a Senior Field Service Engineer, you will oversee ongoing planned and reactive maintenance, perform daily repairs, and ensure that commercial biomass heating installations comply with legislative and contractual standards. Your role will involve a variety of tasks to guarantee the optimal performance and reliability of our systems.

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on commercial heating systems, including pumps, control valves, pressurisation units, and associated mechanical/electrical services, including control systems, fuel stores, and augers.
• Quickly transition into the biomass sector through tailored training courses and on-site learning workshops relevant to the equipment you will maintain.
• Respond efficiently to breakdowns and equipment failures, diagnosing issues and implementing repairs using your engineering expertise to minimise downtime.
• Perform servicing tasks to high standards, ensuring compliance with legislation and contracts.
• Maintain detailed records of all work completed on-site using a company tablet and cloud-based asset management software.

Job Description

Post Title: Engineer Site Supervision
Location: Inverness (Base)/Throughout Highland Council Area
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Salary: HC06 - HC09 £29,047 - £44,790 p.a. (placement dependent on qualifications and experience)

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose:

• To work within the Site Supervision Team for the Project Design Unit, based on construction sites throughout The Highland Council area.
• Supervision of Civil Engineering capital works schemes.
• Ensuring compliance with the contract, programme and specification.
• Producing designs, assessments, reports and contract documents in the PDU, or other Design Offices when not required on site.

Requirements

HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

At least 2 years post HNC experience of site supervision and construction knowledge.

Access to personal transport. Given the rural nature of much of the area covered by this post, the post holder may be required to have access to personal transport to enable them to carry out their duties.
