To act as a Technical Lead for the OPA Major Projects team in respect to Mechanical Engineering activities associated with the Major Projects currently ongoing across the OPA. Job Purpose:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Air conditioning Mobile Building services engineer to join our team working on key contracts around the Peterborough area.

As this role is client facing you will need to present a professional image and have good communication skills and a willingness to provide the best possible solutions to meet the clients' needs.

You will be City & Guilds qualified (to relevant standard) ideally with experience working in a similar environment. As you will be working alone, you'll need to be able to think proactively arranging materials, providing information for quotations, and managing the clients' expectations.

Early starts and late finishes may be required as part of this role to allow for disruptive works to be completed with minimal disruption to the client. You'll be required to be part of the on-call rota system operating on a 1-8 rota.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 07:00 - 17:00 - 40 hours per week

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Carry out installation and servicing of AC units in a range of environments as well as planning, inspecting, and carrying out repairs or preventative general maintenance as required and responding to breakdowns.
• Carrying out statutory inspection of assets including Emergency Lighting, Water Temperature checks, Fire Door inspection and repairs, Plumbing repairs, Lighting checks and other minor reactive works.
• Providing technical guidance to the client and contract support

About You:

• Applicant must have the right to work in the UK
• C&G qualified (2379)
• To be IT literate using Microsoft Word, Excel etc
• Must hold a full UK driving license as use of company vehicle may be required.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• To carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are maintained in order to maximise the operational effectiveness and reliability of the Fire & Security Systems.

• Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.

• To ensure onsite Quality Assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the Fire & Security Systems.

• To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all relevant reactive maintenance issues, and help desk requests.

• To co-ordinate initial actions associated with all requests from the client.
• To co-ordinate visiting specialist sub contractors associated with Fire & Security Systems aspects of the PPM schedules.

• To respond to call outs and cover breakdowns and emergencies associated with the contract as required.

• Fault diagnosis associated with the PPM or Reactive maintenance of the site.
• Assist other trades as necessary.
• Manage workload and prioritise jobs appropriately
• To provide reports in relation to work and equipment as required.
• To undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the Client.
• To proactively work towards the growth of the contract into other service provisions be they System Upgrades, Like for Like replacements, Project works, etc

The knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience relevant to the position are:

Essential

• Fire & Security Apprenticeship (or recognised equivalent)
• Health and Safety Training
• GCSE (or 'O' Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent
• Industry experience with similar maintenance duties including fault diagnosis, rectification and preventative tasks

• The candidate must be fully experienced in fire alarms and have the certification to evidence this

• Must have experience in IP and analogue CCTV
• Must be IPAF trained and have a valid Chapter 8 ECS card

Desirable

• City & Guilds Part 3 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent
• Experience in IT & Networking
• Supervisory experience for future development

Site Engineer

A busy housing contractor have a requirement for a Site Engineer to manage Earthworks packages on new build housing developments in the Greater Manchester region.

Site Engineer role

Reporting to the Technical Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Earthwork packages on multiple sites in the Greater Manchester region.

Duties & responsibilities will include:

• To be fully conversant with all contract drawings and specifications and their application to the works under construction
• To undertake the setting out of the works and carry out independent checks
• Quantify material requirements in advance for call off
• Carry out measurements and surveys and works completed by the Earthworks contractor
• Checking levels and boundaries
• Assist in the preparation of up-dating programs and resource requirements as works progress
• To assist in the measurement of the works with the engineer's representatives
• Be conversant with the company's policies and manuals covering Health & Safety, Quality
• Assurance and environmental issues
• Monitor Health & Safety on site and immediately report any unsafe working practices to the Site Agent
• To continuously liaise and provide information to the Site Manager and Contracts Manager when required
• To assist in ensuring work is carried out cost effectively
• To assist in ensuring a high standard of quality work and report any defects to the Site Manager
• To assist in maintaining site tidiness and cleanliness
• To assist in maintaining good public relations during the works
• To attend internal site meetings as required

Requirements for the site Engineer role:

• HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering or similar is ideal
• 5+ years in a Site Engineering role
• Experience in bulk earthworks and related works
• Capable of using Total Station Survey, EDM and GPS equipment
• Experience of AutoCAD
• IT literacy
• Pro active and good problem solving skills
