To undertake the delivery of engineering design, construction and commissioning packages to the required time, cost, and quality under direction of senior engineers. To provide skilled engineering support in his/her discipline. Additionally, the role will support the maintenance and breakdown issues related to the continued safe operations of the plant.

Main Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities for E&I Support Engineer:

Electrical & Instrumentation Project & Technical Support Engineer shall be responsible for providing engineering support to customer (internal and external) projects, and expertise and support the maintenance and breakdowns to allow the continued safe operation of the laboratory.

• Production of design, installation, and commissioning deliverables (e.g. drawings, reports, calculations, commissioning documents) to agreed standards of safety, cost, quality, and time.
• Provide advice and guidance on issues appropriate to his/her discipline.
• Keep abreast of developments in his/her discipline.
• Develop the skills of others for the benefit of the company.
• Contribute to the development and application of appropriate technical and managerial processes and systems in his/her work area, under supervision.
• Plan and undertake small scale facilities projects, including construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
• To comply with all legislative, regulatory, policy and security standards appropriate to the role.
• Procurement of goods and materials.
• Produce safe system of work documentation in support of projects, maintenance or breakdown tasks identified by the plant engineer.
• Support Asset EIM&T activities for Preston Lab i.e. resolving technical problems associated with plant breakdown.
• Implement and contribute to safety initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for E&I Support Engineer:

• HNC/HND in Engineering/Scientific discipline or relevant equivalent experience.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• NEBOSH or minimum IOSH Managing Safely (or ability to attain).
• Time served with E/I qualification and proven experience in installing & maintaining E/I systems.
• Experience of working in a hazardous chemical plant environment.
• Proven ability to deliver solutions to engineering problems.
• Familiar with the application of engineering theory in relevant discipline
• Familiar with construction and commissioning stages on nuclear Sites.
• Working knowledge of national and international codes, specifications, and standards.
• Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).

Desirable Criteria for E&I Support Engineer:

• Good general safety case awareness with demonstrable knowledge of nuclear Safety Mechanisms (SM), Safety Related items (SRI) and Safety Features (SF).
• Can demonstrate being self-motivated with strong communication skills.
• Ability to produce work packs to standards of safety, quality, and time.
• Can demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.

Communication Respond to complaints and concerns from the public regarding services or equipment maintenance. Provide a response which is empathetic in relation to the issues involved. Participate in and communicate with Trust committees including the provision of reports in relation to the Engineering department services. Keep accurate and complete records of all activities and ensure written communication is consistent with legislation, policies, and procedures. Liaise with the Trust Medical Device Management Group in relation to the Engineering responsibilities for Medical Devices. Facilitate and cascade information to the team e.g. Team Brief, meetings etc. providing a regular briefing in relation to performance, service developments and change management. Ensure Estates colleagues and the wider Trust are kept aware of changes to both Statutory and NHS applicable guidance via verbal communications, email updates or formal reports. Communicate with people in a form and manner consistent with their level of understanding, culture, background and preferred ways of communicating. Communicate as and when required with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Liaise with Safety Inspectors, Risk Managers and developing and maintaining positive working relationships with staff side H&S reps. Ensure close working relationships with all other leads within the Division and clinical locations to achieve a Patient focused service delivery model. Reviewing/audit Identify and evaluate areas for potential service improvement. Develop and prepare various management reports on Engineering services, risk, performance as and when required. Lead audits as required. Participate in review of standards and performance. Regularly review the use of highly complex engineering systems to ensure that they continue to meet demand criteria and users expectation of the service, particularly where such services have a direct impact on clinical care or safety. Investigate and prepare reports on complaints received from patients, visitors, staff and public regarding services provided by the Engineering Department. Ensure compliance with HSE guidance and other Approved Codes of Practice. Monitor, audit and document H&S compliance. Participate in Trust H&S meetings and report on Engineering compliance levels. Assist the Assistant Director of Estates in the development and regular review of the Estates Strategy considering Trust service strategies and Trust wide service development plans. Development Ensure own continual professional development is appropriately managed as per registration requirements and demands of the role. To hold monthly one to one meetings with direct reports, focusing on the achievement of actions, priorities, providing support and positive challenge. Delegate work to team members as appropriate in line with their individual skills, development needs and aspirations. Address issues and concerns that may inhibit staff from achieving both their personal and organisational goals. Enable and encourage others to offer suggestions, ideas, and views for improving services. Ensure all team members have a meaningful annual appraisal and annual personal development plan to ensure delivery of personal, directorate and Trust objectives. Ensure that Engineering staff are appropriately trained both for their general responsibilities and to maintain dedicated or specialist devices. Contribute to the development of others enabling them to make realistic self-assessments and apply their knowledge and skills in practice. Actively promote the workplace as a learning environment encouraging everyone to learn from each other and from external good practice. Management Overall Responsibility for Managing the Engineering Department to ensure that all Engineering building services, and equipment are complaint with statutory legislation and guidance. Responsible for producing and implementing departmental procedures as appropriate, contribute to Trust Policies. Provide a source of expertise, information, and training for equipment users at all levels. Manage the recruitment, appointment, induction, training, and retention of staff, including chairing interview panels. Ensure that Workforce policies and management standards are adhered to. Deliver difficult and challenging conversations and management meetings, as required, to ensure management processes and standards are adhered to. Manage and support the Trust Energy Manager (band 7) Ensure budgets remain on target and engineering services are managed and maintained to maximise efficiency and help reduce energy usage and carbon emissions. Prepare reports, efficiency schemes and business cases to help drive the Sustainability agenda from an estates perspective. Ensure staff are appropriately trained and that training remains in date. Accountability for the budget and financial performance of both Engineering and Energy revenue budgets and any delegated Capital Schemes. Develop Trust policies relating to the Management of key services and equipment. Deputise for the Assistant Director of Estates when required.

Raise orders for spare parts, the dispatch of repairs and engineer call-out dealing with subsequent financial queries regarding price verification and delivery of goods and services Ensure that stocks of any components and spare parts used, do not fall below agreed levels.

Duties to include but not limited to: Management of the operational engineering department that provides essential Electrical/mechanical services, maintenance and technical support to a range of highly complex buildings, services and equipment that is the Trusts estate. This includes arranging pre-contract meetings and applying budgetary control and producing tender documentation. Responsible for project management of schemes generated from within the Maintenance Department and at the request of the Director of Facilities and Services. Responsible for raising orders, ensuring that resources and materials are readily available for effective and efficient management of engineering services. Review available resources and incorporate changes made in line with value for money and audit recommendations. Budget holder for the department. Covers both pay and non-pay budgets for all operational engineering services. Ensuring compliance with Trust Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions. Obtain quotations/tenders involving selection of suppliers to enable production of purchase requisitions. Verify invoices, interim payments and final accounts for payment. Develop, maintain and review all planned preventative maintenance programmes on plant and equipment. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of an effective asset register/equipment database. Participate in the implementation and maintenance of an effective job recording and time accountability system. Ensure that an efficient and effective directly employed labour management system is in place and provide comparison with contract labour. Assist in the identification and preparation of technical and annual maintenance programmes of work. Ensure that sufficient financial controls are in place for all engineering maintenance services and that up-to-date records exist to properly control this function. The principal purpose of this role is to maintain the BMS system and offer technical advice related to BMS systems at various buildings within the Warton and Samlesbury sites. Additionally, the role involves handling Reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance for HVAC systems, including diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults. The position spans across both Warton and Samlesbury sites, interacting with our client's disciplines and customers. Strong customer skills are essential.
Responsibilities include responding promptly to customer inquiries, promoting a collaborative FM team culture, driving energy cost reductions, and providing technical support for both the BMS and Energy Management System (EMS). Flexibility in working hours is necessary due to site operations, and occasional emergency site attendance may be required. Qualifications sought include at least three years' experience in a similar role, excellent knowledge of BMS systems (particularly Siemens & Schneider), and high-caliber HVAC skills and qualifications in air conditioning.
This role requires successful completion of a criminal records check at the basic disclosure level, along with five years of uninterrupted references. Additionally, possessing a valid driving license, excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills, and being a team player with a flexible working attitude are essential. The position may involve travelling to other sites, maintaining a smart appearance, and demonstrating the ability to sustain effective relationships while working under pressure.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.
Location: Preston, Lancashire.
Salary: £30,005 Per Annum, based on 40 hours per week plus call outs/standby & overtime.

They now have an opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Field Service Engineer to join their team based in the Manchester, Lancashire & Merseyside areas, helping people in person and making a real impact by servicing lifting equipment (stairlifts, through floor lifts and platform lifts) vital to their everyday life.

About the Role:

• Based from home attending sites within your region you will have a salaried position, will be paid “door to door” with overtime opportunities
• Carry out a daily program of service and repair visits
• Attend emergency call outs on a rota basis
• Regularly submit related paperwork to Head Office.

Candidate Requirements:

• Preferably from the mobility lift industry, with relevant experience and a minimum qualification of NVQ2
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge
• Fault finding experience
• Full driving licence
• Excellent communications skills
• Enhanced DBS checks will be carried out.

Role information:

Mechanical Designer / Draftsman required for design modifications to existing plant.
To have a bias towards chemical engineering or material handling equipment, working as part of a design team in the development and delivery of design proposals from conception through to final hand-over. This will involve the generation of equipment specifications, tender initiation and assessment, detail design, commissioning documentation and hand-over documentation in accordance with project time-scales. Required to visit plant and produce AutoCAD drawings for review by the Design Engineer.

Duties will include the reviewing, checking and approving designs and the engineering management of supporting personnel working as part of the design team (e.g. Designers, Draughtsmen). Oversight (quality and scope management) of designs placed with external design contractors will be required

Applicants must have experience of the following:
* Degree Qualification or equivalent experience in lieu of this
* Ability to lead design tasks and take accountability and responsibility for delivery of design packages for a range of projects
* Ability to work with minimum supervision and guidance to deliver design packages
* Ability to manage the 'Design' expectations of the project stakeholders throughout the life of the project

Candidates would ideally have:
* Experience of Human Factors in Design
* Experience in Commissioning of Mechanical systems
* APMP Qualification
* Piping and vessel design experience would also be an advantage.
