The role
As a CI&E Engineer you will perform all Control, Instrumentation & Electrical (CI&E) tasks in support of winning and delivering large scale process-engineering themed projects for our key customers, ensuring that the business maintains its position as the world leader in the delivery of marine cargo handling and fuel gas systems for the transportation/storage of liquefied gas. End customers include major worldwide shipyards and ship owners.
Day to day, responsibilities:
- Performing/preparing Calculations, Data Sheets, Specifications, Schedules and Drawings as required and coordinating with other business departments to achieve the required project objectives and deliverables schedules.
- Mentoring of graduate Engineers.
- Contribute to Product and Process Safety systems workshops (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, SIL and LoPA)
- Promote and maintain a culture of openness, honesty, commitment and continuous improvement.
- Actively support the company's Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and other policies and procedures.
- Actively seek to anticipate and mitigate problems/difficulties.
- Potential for role development where appropriate into increased Warranty and Aftersales support where vessel visits would be required to troubleshoot equipment faults.
This role is full time, Monday to Friday and is based in with hybrid working arrangements- 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the CI&E Engineer
- CI&E experience in either a project engineering or design engineering role.
- Ability to work to deadlines whilst being reactive to customer/client requests for change.
- Design engineering experience in the layout of E&I control panels.
- Proven track record on PLC & HMI programming.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of IEC 60079 ATEX, preferably CompEx trained.
- Familiar with Siemens/Allen Bradley/GE IP (or equivalents) PLC hardware and software packages.
- Knowledge of remote monitoring system protocol and development.
Qualifications for the CI&E Engineer
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Preferably chartered or working towards accreditation.
- Strong competency to be demonstrated across at least 2 of the 3 role technical disciplines; Control, Instrumentation and Electrical.
Security Clearance
