About the role
This 4-year Engineering Apprenticeship Programme will see you based at our Droitwich Dairy Müller Milk & Ingredients site. You’ll be provided with a fantastic way to realise your potential and get your career off to the best possible start. You will study towards a recognised qualification, earn a good salary, develop new skills, and gain invaluable experience. Your key responsibilities as an Engineering Apprentice will include:

- Asset Management: keeping Manufacturing machinery maintained, managing processes, filling/packing, and site cleaning operations
- Involvement in Continuous Improvement projects, project management, or tests and trial activities
- Fault finding and quick action to meet food safety standards
- Being part of a team striving to achieve the highest quality products
- Highlighting concerns and ensuring products or volumes meet the agreed requirements and targets

This Apprenticeship combines technical training, academic study, and work-based learning, and covers all the fundamental Engineering topics you need to know, such as:

- Electrical principles and maintenance
- Mechanical maintenance to keep the factories running efficiently
- Automation

This programme is delivered in partnership with our training provider, North West Training Council (NWTC), where you’ll spend 22 weeks of your first year with Müller at their state-of-the-art training facility. From years 2 – 4, you’ll spend a combined 22 weeks with NWTC, with the remainder of the time spent back at Droitwich Dairy site to embed your learning with our team of Engineering experts, whilst continuing to work with our training provider partner to complete your apprenticeship.

We are currently looking to recruit an Automation Support Engineer to join our Droitwich Dairy within our Muller Milk & Ingredients business. The purpose of the Automation Support Engineer is to develop systems and people to improve site automation performance.

Our Droitwich site utilise various PLC brands but we are looking for an Automation Support Engineer who is confident in using Allen Bradley PLCs.

Key Tasks:

- Reactive support for site automation issues within a clear escalation
- Demonstrate a structured problem solving approach
- Ownership of minor (site managed) automation Capex projects through the full project life cycle

Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing company who manufacture products for the automotive and industrial sectors. They are looking for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer 50/50 split, to help reduce machinery downtime.

Day to day duties will include the following:
Dealing with preventive maintenance, both electrical and mechanical
Bending, forming, fabrication
Working on CNC machinery
Working on ABB robots
Troubleshooting and repairing
Communicating with internal staff

You will need the following experience:
Apprentice trained, time served, or qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical maintenance.
Previous manufacturing industry
CNC machinery experience
ABB Robotics experience
Pneumatics & Hydraulics systems experience
PLC fault finding experience.

Senior Engineer Technician / Lead Engineer

4 on 4 off shift pattern covering days and nights

Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer Technician Purpose:
We are recruiting for a Senior Engineer / Lead Engineer to join us at our Droitwich site. This role is a hands on senior engineering technician position with the added responsibility of deputising the engineering technician team when the engineering team leader is not available.
Responsibilities of a Senior Engineer Technician / Lead Engineer:

- Ensure that you are knowledgeable with all drawing Electrical, Pneumatic and Mechanical.
- Advanced automation skills for fault finding and remediation, advanced electrical skills HNC equivalent, advanced mechanical skills for diagnosis and replacement
- Complete all maintenance tasks, PM, CBM, CI and corrective. Contribute to FMEA activities when required.
- Identify & implement Improvements
- Deputising for the engineering team leader at times; attending site stakeholder meeting and coordinating breakdown analysis reports, as required.
