• You will provide hardware design and/or equipment integration support, guidance and leadership to accomplish customer tasking for major weapon control system such as the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System.
• You will perform research and requirements analysis, design and product development, functional and environmental test and evaluating of prototype equipment and systems.
• You will maintain the engineering hardware support and supply risks of deployed systems which impact the Fleet's mission readiness of related hardware/systems.

• You will coordinate the resolution of engineering problems with architectural and engineering contractors, experts from other engineering functions, and co-workers.
• You will communicate with other organizations to resolve inquiries or concerns on completion of facility projects.

• You will be responsible for project development, including concept, planning, design, scope and budget, on a wide variety of customer-driven facility, systems and infrastructure projects.
• You will develop safe standards of practice and/or managing project execution, design and construction contract liaison, site coordination, and project execution and acceptance.
• You will provide complete oversight of program or individual project execution, including assembling and managing project/program teams, pursue contracts as needed through NAVFAC, NAVSUP and NAVSEA avenues.
• You will develop project scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules and coordinate contributing support as needed to ensure smooth project completion and best value to the Navy.
• You will ensure compliance with safety, security, environmental and fire safety regulations including the Americans with Disabilities Act, OSHA, and State and Federal air quality regulations.

The Supervisory Projects Engineer is a key engineering advisor reporting directly to the Chief of Engineering Service. The Supervisory Projects Engineer is a responsible leader and a member of the Engineering management team and is relied on for authoritative advice on all aspects of design and construction matters. This position provides matrix management support and technical expert consultation to the Chief of Engineering Service for all issues relative to the areas listed above. The Supervisory Projects Engineer makes recommendations to the Chief of Engineering for final approval, and has responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the Medical Center Design and Construction program and oversight. Other duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

Engineering Project Management and Administration

• Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, evaluating, and management processes for the Engineering Service Project Section that includes setting qualitative and quantitative standards.
• Within Projects Section, the Supervisory Project Engineer manages human resource functions such as hiring, performance, training and development.
• Provides technical advice on a wide range of engineering issues, including the Strategic Capital Investment Plan, Capital Asset Inventory, Capital Asset Resource Survey, Deferred Maintenance, and a myriad of engineering related topics.
• The Supervisory Project Engineer is a member of and participates on station, VISN, and national committees and work groups.
• Responsible for providing professional engineering direction to ensure compliance with legislative and accrediting requirements at the Medical Center for all design and construction projects.

• Receive administrative direction from the Chief, Engineering Service with assignments in terms of broadly defined project related functions.
• Responsible for the implementation of the Medical Center's capital improvement program.
• Develops technical data regarding materials, sizes, dimensions, quantities, and costs to be incorporated in formal specifications. Conducts site visits.
• Coordinates and oversees scheduling and layout of operations, inspection and surveillance of materials, methods, and equipment used in construction and renovation managed by subordinate engineer, program analysts and program specialists.. Provides technical resource information to engineering subordinates.
• Prepares correspondence, technical reports, estimates, fact sheets, status reports, and schedules as required to complete project assignments.

• Researches and/or analyzes problems, issues, or program requirements related to all areas of the facility and all facets of Projects Engineering Section.
• Researches and provides technical recommendations pertaining to a wide-range of national codes and standards including but not limited to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), OSHA, TJC, EPA, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
• Provides for the financial management of the project section. This includes budget formulation and justification for projects, garnering approval, and execution within budgeted amounts; financial management; and financial reporting.
• Maintains awareness of and information about the overall status of financial resources for projects with respect to established budgets in order to react to changing situations with timely recommendations. Assists the Chief Engineer as needed in defending the budget before senior level management. Interacts and negotiates regarding adjustments or reprogramming in support of project changes or requirements.
• Plans and/or accomplishes special projects as required. Conceives and implements new initiatives and projects to strengthen, facilitate, and integrate programs. Undertakes or participates in special projects, ongoing analyses, investigations, and initiatives that have high priority for the Chief of Engineering Service.

- Operates one or more types of heavy equipment to excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth to rough specifications on such projects as breaking new ground for trails, roads, airfields, or other construction sites.

- Maintains, repairs, and constructs rigid pavements or similar cement and concrete surfaces.

- Maintains, repairs, and constructs flexible roads, pavements, parking areas, airdromes, bike paths, or similar surfaces of asphalt
