I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority for a Group Finance Manager (Capital) in Merseyside (Fully Remote) to lead the Capital Accounting Team and to proactively contribute to the transformation and development of financial management across the Council.
The Role of Group Finance Manager (Capital)
- Responsible to the Strategic Finance Manager for the management of the Capital finance team
- Provide strategic, detailed and professional financial advice to both internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure that the financial advice and services delivered provide value for money and are integrated and supportive of the Council's strategic aims and objectives and also meet the business development priorities of the Directorate
- Responsible for the annual closure of accounts process, ensuring compliance with all current statutory and professional accounting codes and financial reporting requirements
- Take a leading role in the production of budget monitoring information for Portfolio senior managers and Members
- Assist in the preparation of the Medium-Term Financial Plan, Corporate Strategies and be responsible for the annual preparation of the revenue and capital budgets
The Person required for Group Finance Manager (Capital)
- Experience in a similar senior role within local authority
- CCAB or CIMA qualified
