The post holder will be responsible for occupational therapy input in an ethical manner for a defined caseload, including care coordination, for older adult patients with mental health needs including dementia of any age in recovery and positive risk taking approach.To provide a high quality Occupational therapy service which is holistic, evidence based, safe, effective, efficient, accessible and client centred. The post holder will support patients independence and wellbeing and deliver individual assessments and formulation and specific treatments which are client centred and support timely discharge whilst maintaining occupation at the centre of practice. The post holder will provide active clinical and managerial leadership skills within the team, providing mentoring education and supervision to non-registered staff and students and via practice and work based learning opportunities.To contribute to development, provision and evaluation of programmes of Learning and Development to other professionals. To represent and promote the specialist role of occupational therapy including service planning and development and supporting practice placements for occupational therapy students and support students from other disciplines.
