About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Finance Manager to lead and manage our Financial Services function promoting efficiency, high performance, probity, and excellent value for money services.

In this role you will act as the Deputy Section 151 Officer, be the technical lead and support the delivery of our Transformation Agenda.

You’ll assist and report to the Chief Officer Finance & Performance in the operation and development of all financial activities of the Council, playing a crucial role in the delivery of service transformation, driving efficiency and productivity improvements and also the optimisation of income opportunities, to contribute towards the achievement of financial self-sufficiency.

About you

You could be an aspiring leader, who is looking to gain experience as a Deputy Section 151 or an experienced leader who is looking to lead and inspire a new team.

• Fully qualified member of one the five accountancy institutes in CCAB or CIMA
• Demonstrable experience in a strategic finance role in the Public Sector, preferably Local Government
• Understands the political structure and environment within Local Government
• Competent in the use of a financial management systems to produce budget reporting, annual accounts and financial statements in accordance with the CIPFA Accounting Code of Practice.
• Has sound knowledge and experience of local government accounting relating to relevant Accounting Codes of Practice, Statutory requirements and to grant regimes
• Is aware of current legislation including that relating to Housing Revenue Account, Capital Accounting and Treasury Management.
• An ability to innovate and lead in the transformation of service delivery. To include project management of cross-team initiatives.

University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Hepatologist to join our dynamic department as part of service expansion.

The successful appointee will join the existing 16 substantive Gastroenterology Consultants in delivery of high quality inpatient and outpatient provision of Gastroenterology and Hepatology services to this large Trust. The successful candidates will be expected to have established foundation in gastroenterology and endoscopy, and to share their expertise in supporting and developing a forward thinking service. Candidates with an established sub-speciality interest in IBD, Hepatology, and/or nutrition would be considered on the basis of departmental requirements.

The post-holder will participate in the Gastroenterology Consultant on call (including out of hours GI bleed on call), and support delivery of weekend endoscopy lists as necessary. There is no general medical on call commitment.

The Gastroenterology ward moved to Ward 32 in March 2020, to enable expansion and accommodate future provision for a dedicated 10-bedded intestinal failure unit. There are 32 inpatient beds alongside 2 dedicated side-rooms for day-case admission for ambulatory care and

The state of the art JAG approved endoscopy suite at UHCW comprises 8 endoscopy rooms (5 at UH, and 3 at Rugby St Cross), a
seminar room (with video links to 2 endoscopy rooms) and a video processor system for ERCP in the X-ray department. There is an established small bowel capsule endoscopy service and single balloon enteroscopy service, and a newly developed colon capsule service. The department also
undertakes endoscopic ultrasound (radial and linear).

All of the equipment in the department is supplied by Olympus and was refurbished with state of the art equipment in January 2016. There has been further significant capital investment for new equipment in 2020. The department runs a JAG colonoscopy up-skilling course quarterly.

High Intensity Trainee (NHS Talking Therapies) - Band 6

Full time, 12 month Training Course

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust work alongside Coventry and Warwickshire MIND to deliver the NHS Talking Therapies (Formerly IAPT) service across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic health professional to train as a High Intensity therapist within Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership Trust’s Talking Therapies service. The service provides primary care psychological therapies for clients experiencing a range of common mental health difficulties.

This is a training role within the NHS Talking Therapies (Formerly IAPT) Programme . The post-holder will work within the NHS Talking therapies service providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post – holder to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) service to clients with a range of complex problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. The post- holder will work in the service for three days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the other two days.

The dates are as follows: Application to Coventry University following successful shortlisting by 2nd October 2024. An academic screen will then take place on 16th October 2024, Interviews will be offered to all candidates that are successful following the academic screen and will be interviewed jointly with Coventry University colleagues between 6th and 7th November 2024.

The successful appointee will join the existing 16 substantive Gastroenterology Consultants in delivery of high quality inpatient and outpatient provision of Gastroenterology and Hepatology services to this large Trust. The successful candidates will be expected to have established foundation in gastroenterology and endoscopy, and to share their expertise in supporting and developing a forward thinking service. Candidates with an established sub-speciality interest in IBD, Hepatology, and/or nutrition would be considered on the basis of departmental requirements.

The post-holder will participate in the Gastroenterology Consultant on call (including out of hours GI bleed on call), and support delivery of weekend endoscopy lists as necessary. There is no general medical on call commitment.

The Gastroenterology ward moved to Ward 32 in March 2020, to enable expansion and accommodate future provision for a dedicated 10-bedded intestinal failure unit. There are 32 inpatient beds alongside 2 dedicated side-rooms for day-case admission for ambulatory care and
assessment.

The state of the art JAG approved endoscopy suite at UHCW comprises 8 endoscopy rooms (5 at UH, and 3 at Rugby St Cross), a
seminar room (with video links to 2 endoscopy rooms) and a video processor system for ERCP in the X-ray department. There is an established small bowel capsule endoscopy service and single balloon enteroscopy service, and a newly developed colon capsule service. The department also
undertakes endoscopic ultrasound (radial and linear).

All of the equipment in the department is supplied by Olympus and was refurbished with state of the art equipment in January 2016. There has been further significant capital investment for new equipment in 2020. The department runs a JAG colonoscopy up-skilling course quarterly.

A vacancy has arisen within the Property Repairs Services (incorporating Street Scene) for a management and finance assistant. The service delivers responsive property repairs, along with maintenance and future planning across street scene, together with void property refurbishments across several locations within the Borough.

The role will involve working on the financial elements within PRS to deliver a high-quality service by efficiently processing invoices, raising purchase orders, scrutinising jobs for correct allocation of materials and labour. You will be responsible for processing all financial works carried out by the service, whilst working closely with colleagues to ensure service delivery is efficient and effective.

Depending on the post holders’ current level of experience and training there will be a bespoke and structured competency and training programme developed with them to ensure they have the skills, knowledge and confidence to fulfill their role.

The postholder will work within our evidence-based pathways to deliver young-person focused assessment and clinically effective interventions for children and young people referred for autism and ADHD. RISE aims to build resilience and empower children and young people (as well as the adults in their lives) to know where to go for help and advice.

The Mental Health in Schools Team (MHST) programme involves bringing together a new workforce to provide additional capacity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties within educational settings. The area teams provide brief, evidence-based interventions at an early stage of need to children, young people and parents individually or in group settings as well as supporting the implementation of effective whole school and college approaches to mental health to improve outcomes. The current MHST clinical offer is based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT approaches), with CBT therapists and Educational and Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners delivering within school and college settings.

The whole school and college approach is an exciting opportunity to empower the organisational system to promote mental health and wellbeing. This involves working with the Mental Health Lead in the setting to understand their students’ need and delivering parent workshops and psycho-education to students and staff.
