Doing Amazing Things Together
We’re all about possibilities. Are you?
Do you enjoy exploring the local area? Walking, getting out for a coffee, or maybe Knitting is your thing?
And patience. Do you have patience and empathy?
Become a Support Worker.
What matters to the people we support matters to us. It’s their life, their way.
We are looking for someone to join the team supporting people with learning disabilites who share a home in Silsoe, Bedfordshire.
You will be working in their home, so it’s important you can connect, share interests and be interested. The people we support in Silsoe enjoy shopping, café visits, meals out and long walks, so if you know the best places to visit, we want to hear from you. They also enjoy activities at home like knitting and music.
So if you enjoy building meaningful relationships and think you could plan, communicate and deliver support with and alongside people, then this is the place for you.
You will need to be a driver with access to your own vehicle to get to Silsoe, but also its important you are willing to drive the people supported vehicles so they can get the most out of their day. For this you will need to have held a UK manual licence for over a year.
This is a full time role and you must be able to work shifts across the week and some weekends.
Ability to commute/relocate: MK45 - You must be able to reliably commute for shift start times or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Affinity Trust does not presently hold a Sponsorship Licence and while this status is reviewed regularly there is no present proposal to apply for such a Licence.
Why Join Us?
What will we do?
We will train you in everything you need to be a great support worker. We will apply and pay for your enhanced DBS, and we have a mentorship scheme in place to provide support and guide you on your journey with us.
You will be entitled to annual leave with the ability to buy additional leave.
Fully funded health cash plans giving you access to a 24 hour GP, money back on prescriptions, dental treatment, opticians and access to many more health benefits.
We offer Wagestream - a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, access to coaching, vouchers, discounts, cashback and more.
What will you do?
Supporting people is really important but it’s not all Coffee and Knitting. We also support people to make healthy lifestyle choices and maintain their home in a way they feel safe and well.
It sounds exciting to say no two days will be the same, but in support, sometimes they are. Sometimes people like routine and struggle with change… But when you support someone to try something new – what a feeling!
If you want to empower people to live the life they choose and you share our values… Apply to become a Support Worker today.
