1. Technical Responsibilities

The job holder is required to take ownership of the following technical areas:

· 1st& 2ndline Infrastructure Support – dealing with day to day operational incidents that require advanced investigation and resolution techniques. The support will be by using a mix of Remote methods or by providing an on-site desk-side support function at any site.

· Take part in an out-of-hours on call service.



2. Support Services

The job holder is required to:

· Respond to service requests generated via the IT Helpdesk system, within appropriate timescales.

· Follow established local procedures to setup and deploy infrastructure equipment

· Investigate and rectify hardware and software problems on infrastructure equipment.

· Install software to computer systems.

· Take part in a daily support rota, working across sites if required.

· Act as cover to the IT Servicedesk team if service requires it.



3. Service Delivery

· Assist with the control of media, hardware warranties and software licences.

· Assist in the production and maintenance of written documentation.

This Biomedical Scientist post offers an exciting opportunity to further develop your specialist knowledge and skills in Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology.

The department is staffed by a team of friendly and highly motivated BMS’s and ATO support workers, dealing with approximately one million samples per year. The laboratory has recently undergone an extensive equipment refresh to install new ‘state of the art’ kit including Roche 8100 pre-analytics, 2x c8000 lines, a p701 storage retrieval module, Optilite and QuantaLyser 3000 analysers. The laboratory is furnished with the typical equipment associated with a large DGH Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology department.

Once fully trained you will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the service including routine Clinical Biochemistry, Separation Science and Immunology. The successful candidate may be expected to participate in a rota which provides 24/7 cover for the Clinical Biochemistry service.



The department has a strong ethos of quality management, with Peterborough City Hospital being the first NHS laboratories to gain single UKAS/ISO15189:2012 accreditation across the whole Pathology department. Our stroke medical team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity to a research driven Specialty Doctor to join the existing base of consultants and doctors on a permanent role. You will require to work cross site at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital. This is a fixed term post until 30 April 2025.

Working in collaboration with our specialist team, you will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient stroke services to our local communities such as Hyper-acute care including thrombolysis, acute care and rehabilitation.

You will enjoy a high level of autonomy and support from your team, and you will share your specialist expertise while provide a stroke consultation and advisory service to medical colleagues in other specialties in the Trust, potentially in other locations.

We deliver strong “home grown” research projects and take part of multicentre studies using innovative approaches on pre-hospital and hospital emergency stroke care, and use of point-of-care ultrasound.

Our Acute Stroke Centre (ASC) is one of the 19 European Centres within the SECRETO study (Search for Explanation for Cryptogenic Stroke in the Young) network with significant research and clinical impact.

The job plan is anticipated to contain 10 programmed activities per week. We are prepared to negotiate any changes on the job plan for the benefit of clinical service delivery and the department as a whole.

You will join the on-call 1:4 twilight shifts between 2pm to 10pm covering thrombolysis and referrals, including a 1:4 weekend rota.

Supported by a team of 4 stroke consultants and a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for stroke thrombolysis, TIA clinics, inpatient referrals, ward rounds and MDT under consultant supervision as per an internal rota.

As part of your professional development, you will participate in current and future research programmes as well as in service developments in line with national targets and locally commissioned improvements.

Your expertise will help inform GPs management plans for those with mental health needs in primary care.

Providing support, education and problem-solving approaches for adults of working age, you will be an active member of the primary care team with the ability to undertake very short-term interventions for clients with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

At CPFT our adult inpatient wards operate an exciting, ambitious model of care, known as the 3-3-3 model, focussed on providing the right care at the right time. The three wards work together to provide the best care and support possible; Oak 3 our Acute Assessment Unit, where patients stay up to 3 days, Oak 1, our Treatment ward, where patients stay up to 3 weeks, and Oak 4, our Recovery Unit, where patients stay up to 3 months.

We need a charismatic, energetic, enthusiastic health care assistant to support the provision of evidence-based treatment and work with our multi-disciplinary team to support our service users in their recovery.

You may be required to undertake and successfully complete the new national Care Certificate within a 12 weeks’ timeframe if you meet our criteria. You will receive full training and support and The Care Certificate sets out 15 national care standards that must be achieved by all health and social care staff to demonstrate that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide safe and excellent quality of care.
