Job Summary

Interns will work closely with finance leadership and staff for direction on projects, tasks and responsibilities.  Work will involve hands on work on business plans, financial analysis, budgets, projections, and various other areas.  Interns will be involved in trending and analysis of reimbursement, costs related to supplies, pharmaceuticals and other areas of financial optimization. Interns will meet and work with various clinical, operational, and other leaders at various levels of the organization, including senior leadership. Training will include modules provided by the HFMA which will provide significant training in the healthcare business and financial environment.  Additionally staff and leadership will spend time exposing interns to topics and projects. The internship will provide broad exposure to the healthcare system, including physician practices, inpatient services, outpatient operations, surgery, nursing, and various other departments.

About the Role

Internship Period: 11 June 2024 to 16 August 2024

The purpose of our 10-weeks programme is to provide students, who are passionate in Insurance industry, the opportunity to understand our business through hands-on work experience, projects and programme activities.

What you will learn and develop:

Depending on the suitable development opportunities in Group Finance

In the Integrated Reporting team, you may be involved in:

• Finance closing & consolidation processes
• Financial Reporting and analytics
• Internal Controls and governance process for the group
• Project support and coordination
• Budgeting cycle for this team

In the Management Reporting & Planning team, you may be involved in:

• User requirement collection, testing and rollout of the Group-wide finance management information system
• Data verification and preparation of management reports
• Strategic planning template revamp and budget data verification

In the Group Taxation team, you may be involved in

• Direct tax reporting (e.g., Interim tax disclosure note, effective tax rate analysis and other Group Tax deliverables, etc)
• Direct tax compliance (e.g., HK profits tax return filing)
• Various tax projects

You may also be involved in other Finance areas such as Financial Business Management and Group Sourcing. The opportunity will equip the candidates with better understanding in the head office finance function of a large world leading insurance organisation.

• Students from all background and field of study who are in your penultimate year of study
• Excellent teammate and curious learner
• Ability to multi-task, quick to adapt and able to work in fast paced work environment
• Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese
• Strong digital literacy required, proficient in Microsoft Office

• Conduct performance analyses for PE / VC funds and transactions;
• Perform analysis on pricing of different types of bonds and their respective investment characteristics such as credit rating, duration, yield, and term structure.
• Assist in Automating and solutioning financial analysis and ad hoc initiatives assigned covering various asset classes and asset allocation
• Analysis, research and project-related work supporting the Investment ESG Centre of Excellence executing its 2024 goals
• Support Group Equities team to develop or enhance existing analytical tools for portfolio oversight, market intelligence and fund manager research
• Conduce research and analysis on Group Investment related projects
