Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

To provide financial support to the Finance Controls team staff in relation to the a
range of tasks including community care commitments, billing, reconciliations, finance processing and payment of allowances. Liaising with managers, suppliers and elected Members and resolving various issues whilst providing a high performing, customer focused finance support service to the services and on behalf of the City Council and external bodies

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

• Standard Grades or equivalent

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

The Assistant Psychologist plays a central role within the Adult Complex Service, holding several functions that span the domains of clinical activity, outcome measures, audit, research and quality improvement. This is a joint post, split between the two teams in the department – the Trauma Team and the Psychotherapy Team. The post holder will attend team meetings in both services and there will be some opportunities for clinical work under supervision, including co-facilitating psycho-educational groups.

Under the Psychotherapy Team we provide a range of psychotherapies for those who need a specialised service including group, individual and couples interventions. Our approach is based on a psychoanalytic perspective which understands mental health as involving the whole person, their life and their relationships. Generally, those who come to our service have been seen by counsellors or psychologists in the community (primary care), or in specialised mental health services but have either not engaged or found other treatments ineffective or too short and find themselves returning to their GP’s, often reporting that they are repeating the same patterns. The consistency and reliability of the clinical setting and specialist treatment can help our patients to manage their day-to-day living with more fulfilled experience at work and in relationships and therefore may reduce reliance on a multitude of different services.
