An excellent opportunity has become available for Assistant Technical Officers in Aseptic Services. We are currently on a journey of expansion and transformation: We have commissioned and commenced the building of a brand new state of the art Aseptic unit with new technology and equipment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and conscientious Assistant Technical Officer to join our friendly team in our Aseptic unit. The successful candidate will be involved in assisting Pharmacists in preparing chemotherapy drugs and parenteral nutrition products in a ‘clean room’ environment. Competency based training will be provided.
You will be based in the Aseptic Unit which is located within the Department of Pharmacy at Northwick Park Hospital. The Aseptic Services unit provides a cytotoxic reconstitution service using isolator cabinet and manufactures adult parenteral nutrition (PN) in a laminar flow cabinet for patients of the Trust
The department actively promotes development, education and training. To apply you will need to have good standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent as you will be required to complete either the NVQ level 2 in pharmaceutical services or equivalent.
This is a full time post and the post holder will be required to participate in the weekend & bank holiday rota and the late duty rota.
• Assist in providing an aseptic service to Trust.
• Participate in the preparation of aseptic products Chemotherapy and Parenteral Nutrition for use in the wards and supply to other hospitals.
• Ensure good housekeeping in the aseptic clean rooms and other aseptic service areas at all times.
• Stock Control duties receipting unpacking, checking and recording
• Comply with Cleanroom Personnel behaviour.
• Generate worksheets and labels according to prescription and SOPs.
