Are you passionate about supporting children with complex educational, health, and care needs, but need flexibility in your schedule? We are seeking Supply Education, Health, and Care Assistants (EHCAs) to join our bank of supply staff at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for flexible work, with both short-term and long-term placements available to suit your availability.

As a Supply EHCA, you will support students with special needs on an as-needed basis, covering both planned and unplanned absences. Working under the guidance of teaching staff, Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), and medical staff, you'll play a crucial role in providing educational support, care, and some medical assistance to students. Your work may be conducted in the classroom, off-site, or in specialized school areas.
- Educational Support: Help pupils with special needs access learning by providing personalized support within the classroom environment. Assist teachers with classroom management, record-keeping, and implementing Individual Education and Behaviour Plans.
- Health and Medical Assistance: Undertake training to support a range of medical needs as directed by nursing staff, including tasks such as gastrostomy support, epilepsy treatment, and airway management.
- Personal Care and Wellbeing: Provide intimate care as required, including assistance with toileting and mobility. Encourage positive behavior, support emotional wellbeing, and ensure students' safety during activities.
- Flexible Assignments: As supply staff, be ready to adapt quickly to different classrooms and pupil needs, ensuring continuity of care and learning even on short-notice assignments.
- Experience with SEN: Prior experience working with children with SEN is highly valued.
- Medical Competencies: Willingness to train in basic medical support skills specific to pupils' needs, provided under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Adaptability and Reliability: Able to respond quickly to short-term bookings and manage varied assignments with ease.
- Strong Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written skills to communicate with students, staff, and families.
- Physical Stamina: This role involves physical activities like lifting, mobility support, and participation in water-based exercises.
- Variety of Settings: Primarily classroom-based, with potential outdoor supervision and off-site activities.
- Flexible Hours: As supply staff, choose assignments that match your availability, whether for short-term or longer-term cover.
- Resilience: Ability to handle emotional demands from exposure to sensitive situations and challenging behavior with a positive attitude.

Candidates will need to have worked in a high volume accounts payable department have a positive and professional attitude to work. This is a temporary to permanent positions.

Skills

• Experience of working in a busy, high volume, Accounts Payable department
• They must be a resilient, multitasking professional, with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude, able to manage their time efficiently in order to complete all necessary tasks
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal in order to communicateeffectively with internal and external stakeholders
• They must be conscientious, detail focussed and methodical
• Good computer skills, preferable with experience of different company systems
• Must have Microsoft office skills, word, excel and outlook

Tasks

• Processing of invoices and credit notes via capture software
• The matching of invoice and credit notes in readiness for payment on company software
• Processing of weekly supplier payments
• Dealing with external and internal queries via email and telephone

Investigating and resolving outstanding creditor items

• The issuing of petty cash to internal staff, ensuring the correct controls are followed along with the month end journal procedure
• Company Credit card reconciliation, along with the month end journal procedure
• The scanning and re-allocation of post received in the department
• Preparing monthly statement reconciliations
• Ensuring all account payable activities comply with relevant financial policies and procedures.
• Supplier information maintenance on company software
• Undertake other duties as directed and commensurate with the grading of the role.
