We are the South Cambridge Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT), providing 24/7 care for service users experiencing an acute mental health crisis, to support them to stay in their own home rather than being admitted to hospital. We are based in Cambridge, Essex and Hertfordshire.

We are looking for Senior Mental Health Practitioners to join our team. Whether you are a Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker we have an opportunity for you in our team. We are a true MDT and no profession’s voice is louder than another’s.

These roles provide fantastic learning and development opportunities. You will gain experience working with service users with a wide range of presentations and diagnoses. Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) offers a regional service for the diagnosis and on-going management of Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions. The Regional Genetics Service is based on site and the Cardiology Department works closely with it to provide a multi-disciplinary approach. The patient population covers the entire spectrum of inherited cardiovascular conditions including aortopathies, cardiomyopathy, inherited arrhythmias, neuromuscular disorders with cardiac involvement and multi-system disorders. CUH is also one of the six designated adult centres for Fabry’s disease and the regional centre for vasculitis. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take part in the cardiac management of these patients. The role has a strong clinical focus, but with also opportunity for research involvement if desired.

The CUH ICC Service also has strong links with Royal Papworth Hospital, which is relocated to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus beside CUH. A fully integrated ICC Service runs between the two sites. The ICC Fellow will be expected to participate in the cardiology SpR out-of-hours on-call rota (1 in 10-12, non-resident) but not in the delivery of the day-time in-patient service. There is no General Medicine commitment.

The Vitreoretinal Service deals with the full range of vitreoretinal conditions including provision of the National Stickler Syndrome Service led by Mr Martin Snead. The post-holder’s timetable will include vitreoretinal clinics and surgical sessions. Previous vitreoretinal experience is not essential as training will be consultant-supervised from the outset.

The medical retina and vitreoretinal services are supported by a dedicated ophthalmic imaging suite which provides retinal photography, OCT imaging, fluorescein and ICG angiography and B-scan ultrasonography.

It is expected that the post-holder will contribute to the general emergency eye service (currently 1 in 6, second on-call rota).

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher ST6+/Senior) in Hepatobiliary (HPB) Surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

There are two posts available:

Post 1: To commence from 20 August 2024 for 12 months
Post 2: To commence from 25 October 2024 for 12 months

The Cambridge HPB Surgical Unit is the centralised regional HPB referral centre for East Anglia covering a population of 2.5million. Our unit is one of the largest in the UK in terms of clinical volumes (8 Consultant HPB surgeons, >120 liver resections, >100 pancreatic resections annually), with excellent surgical outcomes. The post offers excellent sub-specialty training in HPB surgery.

Candidates will preferably have previous experience at Specialty Registrar level in General Surgery, experience in HPB Surgery is desirable although not essential.

The successful candidate will provide senior surgical cover for HPB patients including attending operating theatres, outpatient clinics, HPB MDT meetings, and covering the on-call rota for HPB surgery.

There will not be a commitment to General Surgery or Transplant Surgery on-calls. The successful candidate will join a team of SCFs and HPB Specialty Trainees. The appointee is expected to carry out a degree of clinical work independently.

We have an excellent track record of providing sub-specialty training in HPB surgery including complex HPB resectional surgery. There will be ample opportunities to be engaged in research projects leading to publications.
