Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistants

We are looking for an enthusiastic Rehabilitation Assistants to work as part of the Sutton Health and Care at Home service. You will be part of the MDT team that helps to prevent admission from community, accelerate discharge from emergency department and acute medical wards and provide supported discharge through bed and home based intermediate care. To work in all areas of the department on a rotational basis, working within set clinical protocols and IRMER regulations ensuring a high quality and efficient Radiographic Service. To ensure consistency of medical imaging quality and standards of patient care in a wide range of clinical environments as well as to a diverse range of patient presentations.

We are recognised in SWL as being a capable and fast expanding service, St Helier now have 3 CT scanners and 2 MRI scanners and Epsom have 2 CT scanners and 2 MRI scanners. We have new US and DEXA equipment for all age groups, and a fantastic Paediatric service at St Helier for x-ray and dental x-ray. We also have very successful Nuclear Medicine, Fluoroscopy and Interventional Radiology services.

As a department we provide excellent opportunities for our staff to develop their career. Our department supports advanced practice where we have an established ultrasound training programme alongside radiographers trained in reporting CT, MRI, plain film and undertaking PICC line insertions. We are a teaching hospital and clinical placement centre for undergraduate students from Kingston University and all Radiographers are expected to contribute to the training of students.

There is a 24-hour Accident & Emergency (A&E) department at both St Helier and Epsom sites. You will be required to take part in the out of hours on-call service and extended days evenings and weekends to ensure we provide consistent care to our patients through 7 day working.

This exciting opportunity to become a part of the Therapy team on the new Critical care unit at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford is not to be missed. The role will be based within our Lower School pastoral team and will suit a dynamic and perceptive individual who is organised, has a flexible approach to changes during the working day, is a team player, and is keen to support our students and help them achieve their full potential.

Part of the role involves assisting the Designated Safeguarding Lead with child protection casework, so a willingness to become involved in this area of school life is essential. Daily tasks will include talking to parents, speaking to pupils, updating pupil records, making and receiving telephone calls, assisting with the smooth running of the Lower School and responding to requests for information.

This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week (8.00am - 4.00pm Monday - Thursday and 8.00am - 3.30pm on a Friday), term time only and offers an actual salary of £21,058 - £31,067 per annum (£25,183 - £26,037 full-time equivalent) based on experience.

We have an exciting opportunity for a new Rotational Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the team at East Kent Hospitals. This post will be based at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, and currently offers rotations within the Acute medical wards (including Healthcare of the Older Person), Critical Care and Trauma/Orthopaedics. with further experience in additional speciality areas becoming available in the future.

Our Occupational Therapists work alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support patients on the acute wards, offering assessment and treatment alongside discharge planning.

The successful candidate would be expected to:

• To manage a clinical caseload of patients, and be responsible for the assessment, formulation and evaluation of patient-centred care.

• To be able to facilitate safe discharge planning from hospital to the community.

• To deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team

• To be actively involved with training and development within the Department in support of new graduate Occupational therapists, student therapists, therapy apprentices and support workers alongside other senior members of the team.

• Promote the role of OT and demonstrate the values to the members of the multi-disciplinary team.
