• This is a 10 PA per working week post within the Medway locality, providing senior medical input to the community mental health service, including providing initial assessment, offering follow up reviews for patients requiring short-term input from the team and CPA Reviews for patients with long-term needs on the Enhanced CPA Pathway.
The post holder will have a joint caseload with other clinicians in the team. They will be expected to work with other clinicians in keeping with the trust Lone Working Policy.

The Community Rehabilitation Service provides a flexible range of mental health interventions to help clients complex mental health needs to manage their mental health more effectively and remain in their own homes. It’s an exciting time to join us: KMPT has been rated Outstanding for Caring and Good overall in our most recent CQC inspection. We are excited to be offering a secondment opportunity for an 8b Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist operational lead to our MHT+ Psychological Therapies Services for working age adults with severe and complex mental health difficulties in Medway. The post is a fixed-term secondment for 23 months and you will be working closely with the Clinical Lead for North Kent. We would be particularly keen to hear from those with experience working with adults with severe and enduring mental health problems, those with operational and managerial experience, or those in established 8a/8b posts and ready to develop these competencies and skills.

You will join a dynamic team of 6 qualified clinicians – clinical psychology, psychoanalytic and CBT, Art and Psychodrama psychotherapies. The post requires you to lead the team on peer supervision and a monthly CPD space. We have good liaison with the local doctoral training course in Clinical Psychology with Chris Church University and other psychotherapy educational organizations and have a rotation of first and third year trainees' placements available annually.

You will have operational lead responsibilities for the service, and manage those in the team. Your will have your own caseload of assessment, individual and group interventions. Experience of Mentalisation based psychotherapy, Structured Clinical Management and EMDR are welcome in addition to core training competencies. Formal HEE funded training will be available for those interested. In addition to expected delivery of psychological therapy you will have leadership roles developing the Pathway of Care with colleagues in the wider team, delivering training and supervision, and you will be working collaboratively with those in the wider team in line with the CMH Framework and the Transformation and working closely with the lead of the service to develop these agendas.

As the service works closely with the wider team there is ample opportunity to learn about organisational dynamics and delivery of care. As a senior team member you will be part of the Psychological Therapies leadership team, representing our service in meetings, discussing appropriateness of referrals with the wider community team and influencing service delivery. The service meets weekly for peer supervision and business/clinical governance, and has a CPD programme on a monthly basis to develop further.

The successful candidate will hold a doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology, or equivalent for psychotherapists, experience in secondary care and management, and have membership with relevant organisation such as HCPC, BABCP, BPC or UKCP.

The applicant will be the central point of contact for the Psychiatry team in North Lincs and will work alongside the current Medical Secretary in Doncaster to provide 2 days support, the successful candidate will also provide annual leave / sickness cover to the Doncaster medical support team where applicable. The applicant must also work well as part of a team to provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the service runs efficiently and productively.

The post holder will be required to liaise with our service users and family members, managers and staff at all levels, and other multi-disciplinary agencies, therefore candidates must have good verbal and written communication skills. Audio Typing is a big part of this role, so it is essential that you have experience in this field.
• Clinical Support
To prepare clinic lists, room space and all necessary documentation prior to clinic sessions
• Diary management for the consultant and members of the medical team including all aspects of meeting bookings and MDT meetings and ensure consultants and members of the medical team are fully prepared for meetings
• Set up and maintain SystmOne rotas
• Effective organisation and scheduling of clinics and appointments; cancelling, re-arranging and sending letters as appropriate
• Book home visits including liaison and contact with patients/service users and other professionals
• Arranging cross cover for consultants and members of the medical team for clinical sessions as required
• Record and maintain consultant and members of the medical team activities as appropriate
• Typing of reports specific to service area i.e. MH tribunal Reports, Discharge Summaries, Section 136 Assessments, Inter ward Transfer Reports, Daily Progress notes and Inter transfer Discharges within agreed timescales.

The F1 will work under the immediate supervision of an ST1 or ST2 with regular ward rounds by the SpRs and Consultants. There is a daily board round and ward round on every ward. The F1 doctor will take part in the round, prepare patients beforehand and carry out the jobs after wards. Schedule all diagnostics that are required for each clinic type in a time effective order to ensure the patient’s receive an excellent service from QVH at Medway Hospital.

Ensure there are regular reviews of all the outstanding patients in the service to ensure patients are seen in the timescales allowed.

Support the Service Co-ordinator with gathering monitoring data for the service as required.

Create and maintain patient case notes in preparation for outpatient consultation clinics, working closely with medical records departments where necessary.

Ensure patient case notes are stored, tracked and archived according to Trust guidelines.

Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of medical terminology, tests, symptoms and procedures.

Arrange for notes/ referrals/ equipment for triage, dictation equipment and clinical supplies to be transported to/ from off-site clinics.

Actively participate in Departmental meetings as required.

Where required assist in maintaining stationery/ equipment stock control for the department.

Attend statutory Trust training courses as necessary and access training ensuring continued professional development within the service.

Assist with the supervision of temporary or new secretaries when covering for holidays and sickness.

Follow the QVH Trust’s guidelines on confidentiality.

Ensure a professional image of QVH and the service is maintained at all times.
