As part of Maternal Mental Health Services, Birth in Mind is a specialist service providing assessment and treatment for adults with severe Fear of Birth (medically referred to as tokophobia) and/or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to their birth experience (including miscarriage, still birth and neonatal loss). You'll be joining a warm, dynamic team of psychologists and psychological therapists who are deeply committed to providing the best possible care.

Our service offers generous time for CPD, giving you the chance to expand your expertise in Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. We highly value clinician self-care, providing strong support systems including peer supervision, regular one-on-one supervision, and specialist supervision in Compassion-Focused Therapy and EMDR.

The EIP team is specialist service, with teams embedded within each locality. • To act as named worker, offering evidence based interventions for psychosis, under the supervision of the Clinical Lead. The role is focused on working collaboratively with the client and their family/friends on their recovery, developing a relapse management plan.
• To undertake comprehensive assessment of health and social needs together with the client and their family to implement a plan of care and provision of NICE recommended interventions.
• To work closely with other stakeholders to ensure the client has a comprehensive and holistic care plan to meet their well being needs.

The “must haves” for this role:

• Doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology.

• Experience of specialist assessment and formulation and treatment of adults in inpatient and/ or community physical health settings.

• Relevant experience of working with long term pain conditions.

• A background of liaising with clinical and management colleagues around service improvement in a relevant area.

• HCPC registration

Exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 5 Occupational Therapist (OT) post at Prospect Park Hospital (PPH) based in Reading.

This is an opportunity for newly qualified OT or Final year OT students who will be qualifying soon.

PPH serves all the localities in Berkshire and has approximately 170 inpatient beds spread across four adult acute Mental Health wards, two older adult Mental Health wards and a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). You will be allocated to work on one of the wards.

The PPH Therapy team is composed of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Speech and Language Therapy team members. Working in a passionate Allied Health Professional team, you will have access to our Trust-wide Learning and Development programme and be supported in your career and personal growth with opportunities to help you to build your Continuing Professional Development portfolio, enabling you to extend your skills and ensure that you excel.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to be trained in VDT MoCA (Model of Creative Ability). You will have a passion for caring a warm personality and the resilience to play a vital role in helping patients take the next step in their journey.
• To provideOccupationalTherapy services for people in receipt of mental healthand physical healthservices across Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust(BHFT).

• To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based / client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate OccupationalTherapyinterventions.

• Contribute specific OccupationalTherapyknowledge and skills to the multi-professional team.

• Participate in supervision of junior staff and students asrequired.

• Ensure effective liaison with other services within the 6 localities in Berkshire including voluntary, statutory general community resources.

• To be an active member of thePPHOccupationalTherapyrotation including the following areas: acute adult mental health admission wards,Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), older people’s in-patient wards.

• Professional qualification or degree in Occupational Therapy with HCPC registration
• A commitment and passion to deliver high quality care in a mental health.
• An ability to be flexible and work creatively in accordance with service needs.

With excellent communication and people skills, you will be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of patients, their families, and carers. You will engage and motivate patients therapeutically, using verbal and non-verbal skills where there are barriers to communication and understanding.
