In neonates, first line medical cover is provided by 2 specialist trainees in RCPCH approved posts recognised for training by the Health Education North East, 2 neonatal trust grade doctors and four Advanced Neonatal Nurses Practitioners on the same rota. Tier 2 support is provided by 5 advanced neonatal nurse practitioners working at middlegrade level. This role is suitable for applicants post foundation at ST1/2/3 level with experience working clinically within the NHS. It is ideally suited to candidates wishing to work in a large teaching hospital which provides many specialist services and is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in paediatrics or neonatal medicine. You will also be required to assist in preparing discharge letters, Initiation/change of treatment and discussions with relatives. Ward management- assist in wards rounds and attending to emergency calls. Responsibilities include routine examination of the newborn and care of babies in the neonatal unit, attending at risk deliveries and on the post-natal wards. There will be adequate support and supervision from middle grade doctors and consultants. The post holder will participate in the tier 1 on call rota. When on-call you will be expected to carry the emergency bleep and attend to calls.

We’re looking for a senior data analyst to join us who can help lead the analytical and reporting team as we put into action new tools and techniques to meet Homerton Healthcare's current and future challenges.

Sitting in the People Analytics & Systems team at the heart of Homerton Healthcare within the People Directorate this post is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career. The post is suitable for doctors who have completed IMT training (or equivalent). It would be particularly suitable for doctors who may wish to go on to apply for higher training in nephrology. Opportunities will be available to participate in the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and simulation training. There are also opportunities to participate in research, quality improvement processes and to gain experience in management and clinical leadership depending on interests and experience. On-call commitments may vary according to the post and the requirements/experience of the post holder. The post is for a minimum of six months with options to extend by mutual agreement. This posts is not recognized for training by the Postgraduate Dean. Although the post is not recognized for training, trainees will be allocated to a Clinical Supervisor and have the opportunity for supervised learning and feedback. They will also have access to department training, meetings and local teaching.

Do you love working with people with complex needs, supporting the transition from hospital through personalised care and support and facilitating independence and quality of life? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 occupational therapist to join the award winning Enhanced Practice in Care Homes (EPiC) Team in Hackney. The post is initially for 6 months but expected to extend until 31/3/2025, secondments will be welcomed.

Working as part of a small dedicated multi-disciplinary team, the EPiC Occupational Therapist works collaboratively within the 4 nursing homes in Hackney. Through the provision of proactive assessment for all new residents, and brief intervention focussing on posture and positioning, seating, falls prevention and facilitating independence and meaningful activity etc, the team has improved resident outcomes.

The postholder will be experienced working with older adults and adults with complex needs; will enjoy collaborative working and support the development, and education of care staff. The team uses QI methodology to review and improve the service and is keen to embrace innovation to maximise outcomes.

This fixed term contract (maternity cover) will provide the opportunity to lead on service development and evaluation with an aim to continue the service past April 2025.

The post holder will be an experienced Occupational therapist who will utilise specialist skills and knowledge gained from several years’ experience to deliver person centred and clinically appropriate intervention to facilitate function, independence and improve quality of life for people living within a nursing home environment. They will work collaboratively with the care home staff, residents and families

This will be achieved by providing holistic assessments of residents and working with the patient and care home staff to enhance their knowledge, skills, confidence, and professionalism.

Responsibilities will include, carrying out initial interdisciplinary assessments for patients referred to the team, implementing occupational therapy assessment and intervention including the use and prescription of specialist equipment and liaising with and training care home staff to ensure recommendations are implemented through training and support. Using evidence-based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, as well as responsibility for managing and transferring an individual patient’s ongoing care to other professions and agencies as appropriate. Engaging with residents family and friends, and activity coordinators to explore and support meaningful activity within the care home environment.
