Come to Cornwall we have exciting opportunities for Band 2 Theatre Assistants to join the team in the Operating Theatres and Recovery at one of our three sites, the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

You must be able to demonstrate good communication skills and work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and meet the person specification.

A rare and exciting development opportunity has arisen for an individual to work within the haematology clinical nurse specialist team. This would suit a nurse with a special interest in haematology and stem-cell transplant/apheresis. The haematology CNS team are committed to providing specialised, excellent care and treatment and wish to continue in our drive to further improve the service to our patients. As a specialist nurse within haematology you will develop your role within a variety of clinical settings, including the acute in-patient ward, out-patient department and the Headland Unit which is a specialised day-case unit.

The Haematology team are a dynamic, forward-thinking team, consisting of seven consultants, a specialist registrar and a haemostasis CNS team, all providing care across the inpatient and outpatient setting.

As a specialist nurse you will need to possess excellent communication skills, have an understanding of chronic and malignant haematological conditions and show the desire to further enhance their knowledge and skills within this specialised area

This is a full time post, working 37.5 hours per week.

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust has launched a significant investment in its Cancer Services workforce over the last few years. The additional staff will ensure the service is fit for purpose to provide ongoing excellent care and the roll-out of new technologies and services.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse to work within the oncology team as a specialist nurse within the Upper GI service and are seeking a motivated professional to join our team. You will be working closely with the other clinical nurse specialists for Upper GI, surgical and medical teams, oncology consultants, acute oncology and other colleagues across the Trust. This role plays a pivotal part within this service, including meeting the needs of cancer patients receiving anti-cancer therapy and providing seamless holistic care. The role will also include the development of policies, new working relationships and improved patient pathways.











As a role model for cancer nursing practice, you will develop skills in clinical and managerial expertise to assess, manage and treat patients, as well as working towards supporting and leading on the introduction of new initiatives and pathways. You will have post-registration experience in oncology / haematology/ palliative care or relevant speciality.

Within this role you will be required to develop the skills of clinical leadership, managing change, running nurse led services and clinics, supporting teaching programmes and presenting at all levels (with the support of senior colleagues), with knowledge of managing resources, people and situations effectively, whilst keeping a clam head in a challenging environment.
