We are looking for highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individuals to join our Cellular Pathology team to work within Pathology.

The department is introducing Digital Pathology, and we are looking for a person to lead the scanning of slides. You will be responsible for ensuring the slides are scanned in a timely manner and are of appropriate quality. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the scanners are operating efficiently and effectively Assist senior BMS staff with the supervision and training of Medical Laboratory Assistants (MLA).

The successful applicant must possess a relevant qualification along with previous clinical laboratory experience. Candidates should hold either the NVQ Level 3 in Clinical Laboratory Support, or IBMS certificate of achievement Part II, or an equivalent qualification in a relevant science based subject.

Participation in the rota is compulsory, including weekend, bank holiday early and late shifts.

The post is based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital although candidates may be required to cover absences across sitesincluding RJAH.

As an Associate Practitioner you will work in collaboration with Biomedical Scientists and other colleagues assisting in the provision of a diagnostic service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Medical Secretary to work within the Cardiology Secretary team based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.

The post is full time fixed term or secondment for 1 year, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

The post holder will join a team of Medical Secretaries who organise the workload of the Consultants within the department and ensure that an efficient service is provided.

You should already possess 4 GCSE's (grades 9 - 4 or C - A) or equivalent, RSA stage 3 typing, word processing (or have equivalent experience), knowledge of MS Office and be qualified or working towards NVQ Level 3 Business/ Medical Admin or AMSPAR. The ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload is essential, as are good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of staff groups at all levels.

The post holder will produce accurate clinical and general correspondence, regularly using complex and sensitive medical terminology from audio transcription.

They will also be required to respond to telephone calls from anxious and distressed patients, responding appropriately to contentious, sensitive and difficult enquiries.

The successful applicant will gain valuable experience in the day-to-day management of a busy Medical Secretaries office and will provide an excellent opportunity for development and progression for a motivated candidate.
The successful applicant will join a busy team currently comprising of four Medical Secretaries at this site. The post holder is pivotal in the patient’s relationship with the hospital, the clinical team and the Consultants. The team support each other to organise the workload of the Consultants within the department and ensure that an efficient service is provided.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a passionate autonomous forward thinking practitioner, who is passionate about Women's health to be our Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Gynaecology, working as part of our medical and nursing team to assess patients, plan and evaluate care and treatment through the patient pathway.

You will be triaging referrals, seeing patients assessing their clinical care and holistic past medical history. Identifying timely interventions and planning care delivery through general gynaecology and referring those to the cancer pathway.


• To be a competent practitioner, leading innovation and demonstrating clinical expertise within Gynaecology, to identify and take responsibility for own learning and development
• To act as a specialist resource to professional colleagues, service users and their carers/families in relation to Gynaecology services
• To develop, evaluate and audit standards of care provided, including the development of outcome measures and identify quality improvement projects that are related to the audit outcomes
• To carry out physical examination on patients dependent upon history and protocol
• To be willing to learn and undertake specific Gynaecology procedures where required such as vaginal examination, biopsy taking, colposcopy and hysteroscopy
