The main duties of the post consist of providing consultant leadership, supervision and support to their team.The post-holder will participate, directly and indirectly, in the assessment of patients referred to the service and in drawing up coproduced care plans which will address the patients’ psychiatric, physical, psychological and social needs, with the input of the whole multidisciplinary team. Good communication will be undertaken with the patient’s GP and workers in the team. When a review of the care plan is indicated, the post-holder will participate in such reviews and include the GP, carer or any other relevant professionals.



The post holder will also provide clinical supervision to resident doctors allocated to the team.

Highly specialist SLT in critical and acute care managing complex communication and swallowing impairments including patients who are tracheostomised and ventilated.

Senior leadership and management of the acute SLT team.

- The post provides the main clinical cover for general and cardio thoracic critical care units and input across the hospital wards including medcard and front door services.

- Thepost is required to input into the multidisciplinary management of complex critically ill patients with communication and swallowing impairments, including those with tracheostomies and ventilatory requirements, as per the Intensive Care Society guidelines, these patients should receive daily SLT input therefore there needs to be cover across the week.

We have an active and growing paediatric research unit based within a new, dedicated and purpose-built Children’s Clinical Research Facility (CCRF), which opened in 2018. An opportunity has arisen for an Orthopaedic Optimisation Project Lead Fixed at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Trust.

We have funding for an exciting new project which will manage Orthopaedic referrals for the South-east of London. The APP team in the integrated musculoskeletal Service will work together on this project andan opening has arisen within the team to participate in and supportthis exciting initiative whilst maintain clinical waiting times and meeting of activity targets.

The role provides leadership in expanding FCP clinics in primary care, working in MCATTs clinics in the Trust and as a clinical specialist in the Guys and St Thomas’ musculoskeletal outpatient department.

Clinical and Communication Responsibilities

Guy's ACU provides assisted conception, diagnostic, PGT and fertility preservation services. Founded in 1991, Guy’s ACU is one of the UK's largest assisted conception clinics offering both NHS and self-funded fertility care. Our state of the art laboratory utilises time-lapse incubator technology and the best equipment to allow us to deliver optimal care. We operate a seven day service caring for patients who are undergoing funded treatment and attract both national and international self-referrals. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated HCPC registered Embryologist to join our team. Guy's ACU Embryology requires high calibre, focused individuals to join the team and support our expanding OTC service. You will undertake all routine andrology and embryology procedures as well as support the training of new laboratory team members. There will be the opportunity to complete further training to undertake embryo biopsy for the largest PGT programme in the UK. In addition to this we require scientists with clinical experience in ovarian tissue cryopreservation and HTA regulations to support Guy's OTC programme. You will also perform a range of administrative, diagnostic and support activities that are critical in delivering a high quality service and helping our patients achieve their dreams of a family.
