The crisis pathway in Milton Keynes consists of Mental Health Hospital Liaison Team (MHHLT) and the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT), as well as Street Triage and Ambulance Triage. This role is a split post between the former teams. Together with the Consultant Psychiatrists, the post holder is a clinical lead for the teams, driving service development with the team managers and senior practitioners.

The role entails close working with a wide range of agencies and colleagues, including acute hospital staff, police, social care and other teams across Milton Keynes Mental Health Service, to support the psychological care of patients in a mental health emergency. In addition, within the MHHLT a large part of the role involves helping acute hospital staff to understand and meet the psychological needs of their patients.

We are seeking applications from self-motivated, adaptable and enthusiastic psychologists who have experience in crisis work and / or clinical health psychology and have a good foundation of transferable skills with an interest to develop in this area. Applicants should be committed to delivering patient-focused care and treatment.



The post holder will be need to be an integral part of both teams, attending handover meetings, contributing to discussions about the caseload and brining a psychological perspective to care planning for all patients. They will support with screening and assessing referrals, offer short term work to include formulation and intervention with patients, and provide psychological consultation to colleagues and other services. The post holder will receive regular supervision and support from the Lead Psychologist and Operational Manager, as well as peer support and guidance from other team members. The postholder will have the opportunity to become involved with quality improvement projects and other initiatives that enhance the service user experience. You will also be linked in with Trust – Wide psychological professions initiatives and events.

The team provides assessment and intervention to people living in Milton Keynes with suspected dementia and with a diagnosis of dementia. The service also provides support to the families and carers of people with dementia. This post also involves offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to the carers of service users, and working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Teams’ policies and procedures.

The service functions in both outpatient clinic and community settings. The post holder will work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, comprising of psychiatry, nursing and occupational therapy, in order to ensure the highest standards of care. The post holder will be required to complete home visits where indicated and may be required to travel to different sites within CNWL for meetings.

Supervision and support will be provided by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist for Older Adults.

The post holder will need to be a qualified and registered therapist or psychologist , with the HCPC or equivalent.

The aim is to provide a service across ARC MK integrated drug treatment service with a focus on the homeless, rough sleepers and hostel residents that reside in the Milton Keynes.

The post holder will use their specialist foundation knowledge and skills to undertake assessment, care planning, implementing and evaluating the case and treatment of clients.

You will join our multidisciplinary team to help engage with the homeless population who use drug and alcohol to help engage in community-based treatment to secure long-term accommodation.

The role will be part of the Addictions Recover Community, Milton Keynes (MK) team, but predominantly community-facing, working in sites across Milton Keynes.

• To be able to assess and case manage clients who inject club drugs, in particular assessing injection sites and be conversant with the precepts of harm minimisation, taking a predominant role in providing duty assessments to clients who are new to the service.
• To provide case management and direct clinical care to a defined number of clients as agreed with the Service Co-ordinator and under the supervision of a designated professional within the team. This includes assessment, planning and providing specialist care. It is expected that the caseload will consist of clients with needs of a low to medium complexity.

General administration

To gain a thorough knowledge of the hospital CRS and Radiology CRIS and PACs computer systems to book appointments, look up patient notes and images and update and amend or add patient information. Particular care is required as the department uses a number of operating systems that are interdependent.



Although the post is located within a specific area of the Imaging department: a working knowledge of other areas of the Imaging appointment and reception areas will be required. Specific duties may be amended over time in response to the changing needs of the department.



Patient pathway

Understand and work from Primary Target Lists (PTL) and take appropriate action. It will be necessary to be aware of the targets on the NHS plan and how actions taken in every day procedures affect these targets.



Be aware of length of waits for appointments and highlighting areas of concern to the line manager as well as ensuring concerns are dealt with.



Customer Care/Communications

Ensure that the service provided to patients and other service uses is sympathetic, friendly and efficient. This may involve for example; tactfully encourage patients not fully aware of the severity of their medical needs to attend investigations without unduly alarming them, or, dealing with patients, or their partners, who may be upset, angry or distressed.



Dealing with telephone enquiries from patients, general practitioners and hospital clinicians. A working knowledge of other areas of Imaging will be necessary to ensure that a second call is not required and that queries are dealt with at the first point of contact or passed to the relevant area. Calls cover a whole variety of subjects including:


• Anxious patients seeking advice on their forthcoming examinations or who are unhappy about the priority of the appointment they have been given.

Training

Undertaking a period of in-post training for 6-12 months to understand all aspects of the post and to attend other training courses as required.

The programme is continuously expanding, bringing new challenges and exciting changes. The SSP role is diverse and involves providing autonomous care to patients participating in the BCSP. The SSP will offer guidance, support, and clinical knowledge at each step of the patient's journey in the programme.

The duties of the Specialist Screening Practitioner include providing advice, information, and support to individuals who contact the screening centre directly.

Our Estates team are currently hiring anEstates Helpdesk Administrator and Scheduleras the current employee has had an internal move. This role is a NEW role, and you will be based on-site at Milton Keynes University Hospital within the Administrator Workshop Office. The successful candidate will be working 8 am – 4 pm.

As first-point of contact for the team, you will also be customer facing on reception, responsible for answering the phones and incoming emails, be responsible for ensuring office equipment if fully stocked and also participate in ad-hoc duties for the management team.

As well as working on the helpdesk, you will be acting as a scheduler for the Estates team using the CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) system. You will be allocating Estates staff to the requests that come through.

· Prioritise and control allocation of incoming reactive jobs received via both email and phone call.

· Allocation of planned preventative maintenance work based on staff trade and/or job role.

· Work with the Stores Officer to minimise delays for parts and ensure timely completion of outstanding jobs.

1. Act as the first point of contact for all requests for maintenance repairs from Wards and Departments in person, telephone and electronically.



2. To prioritise and schedule maintenance work using the Trust CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) system, and issue to maintenance staff.

3. Allocate planned preventative maintenance tasks to the maintenance staff based on trade, skills and workload.



4. Liaise with Estates Stores Officer to minimise delays to job awaiting parts.



5. If jobs can’t be done by the team let Supervisors / Estates office know.



6. Participate in the provision of an efficient and courteous reception and enquiry function on behalf of the team, including issuing passes to visitors and contractors.



7. Work in conjunction with management to ensure all completed works orders correct and are to support the production of performance result.



8. Update customers on job progress, promoting a customer focussed service.



9. Responsible for Office equipment, purchase orders and office supplies including stationery budget within works department.



10. Order goods and services using the web-based procurement system.



11. Check invoices received from suppliers for accuracy; apply financial codes and process for authorisation within set timescales to enable Finance to proceed with payment to meet net term agreements.



12. Liaise with suppliers to resolve any discrepancies on behalf of management team.



13. Maintain ongoing call off orders.



14. Responsible for the processing of incoming and outgoing mail, including prioritising, sorting and actioning as necessary.



15.Liaise with other members of the Team on behalf of the Management Team to ensure effective dissemination of information.



16.Set up and maintain relevant information systems both electronic (spreadsheets) and manual, to ensure appropriate records are available, including the issue of keys and permits.



17.Maintain and update diaries to assist efficient operation of the Team.



18.Provide accurate copy typing of tenders, reports, routine correspondence, emails, and memos to professional standards.



19.Draft routine responses to correspondence on behalf of the Management Team.

You will become part of a growing team of Clinical Pharmacists and Specialist Pharmacists, who support patient care across a wide range of clinical specialties within the Trust. This role is crucial to the delivery, development, and evaluation of pharmaceutical services across the hospital. It plays a key part in helping divisions optimise medicines use within available resources.

Our standard working hours now consist of four long days (8 am to 6.30 pm) per week, with coverage on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays on a rota basis. After a period of induction and training, you will contribute to the pharmacy out-of-hours service.
