The Role:
As a Class Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional Food Technology education to the learners, leading them towards achieving relevant qualifications.
You will plan and conduct lessons in accordance with DFE guidelines and school policies, oversee the daily management of the class, and supervise a Teaching Assistant. Your role also involves implementing school policies related to safeguarding and equality, monitoring the well-being of students, and liaising with care, medical, and behavioural support teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment for our SEN/ASD learners.
- Consistently design and deliver differentiated lessons that foster stimulating and enjoyable learning experiences.
- Adapt resources to meet the needs of all students, ensuring inclusive access to education.
- Provide quality feedback to students to promote effective learning and progress.
- Contribute to the development of essential skills, including Maths, English, and life skills.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour conducive to learning.
- Prepare and deliver engaging lessons based on established schemes of work, leading to recognised accreditation or qualifications.
- Utilise regular assessments to monitor student progress and set achievable targets.
- Ensure all students achieve their full potential.
- Maintain accurate student data to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Contribute positively to our strong school community, reflecting Aurora's core values.
Successful Candidates Will Demonstrate:
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and the ability to adapt it for SEN students.
- Experience working with young people with ASD.
- Preferably, experience in delivering BTEC home cooking or similar programs.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- Ability to build nurturing relationships with young people.
- Experience managing various learning approaches, including support for students with anxiety.
- Knowledge of strategies and visual teaching methods to engage reluctant learners.
- A flexible, creative approach to teaching.
