What You'll Do as Our Head Chef:
As the Head Chef at Foodie’s Bakery and Cafe, you’ll take charge of our kitchen operations, drive menu innovation, and ensure every dish meets our high standards. Key responsibilities include:
1. Menu Creation: Develop seasonal menus that cater to our customers’ tastes, combining classic cafe staples with unique, trend-setting dishes.
2. Culinary Excellence: Prepare, cook, and plate a variety of meals, ensuring consistency in quality, presentation, and portion control.
3. Leadership: Lead, train, and inspire kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
4. Kitchen Management: Oversee kitchen operations, including ordering supplies, stock control, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
5. Quality & Safety: Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, consistently upholding the quality expected at Foodie’s.
6. Cost Control: Manage food costs, portion sizes, and waste to optimize kitchen efficiency and profitability.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re on the lookout for a Head Chef who brings creativity, organization, and a strong sense of teamwork to our kitchen. Ideal candidates will have:
1. Qualifications: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
2. Experience: At least two years of experience as a Head Chef, with a track record of managing kitchen operations and leading a team.
3. Skills: Strong culinary skills, with an eye for detail and a passion for innovative, high-quality food.
4. Attributes: Organized, reliable, and capable of handling a fast-paced kitchen environment. Able to bring leadership and enthusiasm to the team.
5. Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential.
