Your main responsibility as a Sous Chef will be assisting the Head Chef in the management and running of the kitchen ensuring your team stay motivated and all food is prepared to the highest standards.

Other key responsibilities as a Sous Chef include;

• Supporting with menu development and design, taking into account the nutritional requirement of Champneys healthy eating cuisine.
• Supporting the Head Chef in recruiting, managing, training, and supervising all kitchen staff to Champneys high standards.
• Maintaining & improving standard of service and operating standards, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction.
• Gaining a working knowledge of the Champneys healthy eating philosophy and ensure staff are trained and philosophy is implemented in department.
• Order food items for all outlets checking on prices, quality, and quantity to control departmental food cost expenditure and to minimize food wastage.

Some of the responsibilities of a Kitchen Assistant include;

• Ensuring all kitchen areas are kept clean at all times and that all walk through areas are kept clear of any obstruction and that floors are kept dry.
• Washing all kitchen equipment for the chefs and all crockery and cutlery for the restaurant service staff.
• Storing of all food deliveries as instructed on a daily basis ensuring that new stock received is rotated with old stock.
• Communicate effectively with all staff and departments to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
• Provide support with all resort non-food deliveries and distribution of received goods to relevant department.

Other key responsibilities as a Chef de Partie include;

• Prepare food to our high standards and ensure perfect presentation.
• Be responsible for your section and offer guidance and support to our commis chefs.
• Be fully aware of all dietary requirements, ingredients and the nutritional value of all menu items.
• Maintain clear communication between the Kitchen and other Departments.
• To ensure that all costs are kept within the agreed budget where possible and notify the Head Chef when problems are identified.
