Hours: 37.00 - to be worked Monday - Friday, with alternate weekends
Salary: £25,826 per annum
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Hillside.
Hillside is a care and rehabilitation facility for health and social care. This is a specialist facility, providing short term and long term care for older members of the community who are living with age-related conditions such as dementia
You will be responsible for running the kitchen at Hillside in line with food hygiene standards for the provision of meals to clients staying with us.
In running the kitchen, you will be responsible for the provision of meals to clients including breakfast, main meal for lunch and a smaller lighter meal for supper.
You will organise and prepare healthy and nutritious meals ensuring individual preferences, dietary requirements and allergies are catered for, creating new menus as required.
As Cook you will be responsible for line managing the Catering Assistants, directing their work on a daily basis and ensuring relevant tasks are completed.
We are looking for a candidate that has experience of working in a commercial kitchen environment, ideally within a care home setting, providing quality food and meals. We are also asking that candidates have completed NVQ 2 or City & Guilds Equivalent along with Food Hygiene level 2.
The role does require flexibility in working hours, to include evenings and weekends.
