Network Engineer
In this role you’ll:
- This is a Hybrid role. You will need to be in the office 50% of the time. The locations are Portsmouth, NH, Arlington Heights, IL and Atlanta, GA. There is no relocation package available.
Work with a great multi-cultural team of enthusiastic network engineers.
Collaborate with other global and multi-cultural teams of engineers, architects, and project managers.
Bridge the gap between traditional enterprise and public cloud networking solutions.
Build and maintain physical and virtual switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
Build and maintain infrastructure as a service as well as infrastructure as code.
Build and maintain WAN links using technologies such as VPN, MetroE and Express Route.
Maintain and improve upon best practices for reliability, stability, security, and performance.
Adhere to standards, including CISP and PCI, and work with other teams to remediate findings.
Provide occasional off-hours support and participate in an on-call rotation.
Perform change and incident management functions.
Write and maintain any technical documentation necessary for efficiency among teams.
Automate solutions for complex & repetitive tasks or problems.
About the ideal candidate:
You should have a college diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or equivalent demonstrated experience. Industry standard certifications in physical or cloud networking are also a plus.
In addition, we’d like to see 3+ years of experience with the following:
Network and security engineering and support in 24/7/365 environments.
Implementing and supporting network services in public cloud environments such as Azure, GCP, etc.
Enterprise class routers and switches (Cisco ASR, Nexus, etc.).
Protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and HSRP.
Features like SVI, vPC, VDC, STP/RSTP/RPVST, LACP, EtherChannel and Port-Channel.
Enterprise class firewalls (Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, etc.).
Enterprise class load balancers and associated traffic policies (F5 LTM, Citrix ADC, A10, etc.).
Network management, monitoring and troubleshooting tools/software.
Required skills include:
In-depth knowledge of the TCP/IP model and strong troubleshooting skills across all layers.
Experience with highly available and highly transactional e-commerce environments.
Experience with enterprise public clouds, SDN, and build automation tooling.
Experience with network infrastructure automation utilizing Python, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
Experience with information security and access control.
Experience with remote access technologies (SSL, IPSec VPN, RDG, etc.).
Experience with content delivery networks (Imperva, Akamai, etc.).
The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
The ability to occasionally meet the physical demands of working in a data center.
The ability to work independently while exercising good judgement.
The ability to maintain ownership and accountability across all areas of responsibility.
The ability to work with interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations.
The ability to travel (up to 20%) to provide onsite support for corporate datacenters throughout the US.
