We are seeking a locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with an interest in gynaecology oncology/laparoscopic surgery at Frimley Park Hospital. The post holder will work closely with another colleague on site with the same special interest and with the Tertiary cancer centre at Royal Surrey County Hospital.

The post holder will undertake their on-call rota for Obstetrics and Gynaecology commitments at Frimley Park Hospital (FPH). This included a 1 in 20 “hot week/Consultant of the week” commitments and as well as working 5 weekends a year in participating both non-resident on-call weekends and 12-hour consultant resident shifts on the Labour Ward Saturday and Sunday daytime. It is anticipated that the post holder will undertake their outpatient clinics and inpatient surgical operating sessions at both FPH and Heatherwood Hospitals.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in cross site guidelines and governance processes and teaching for both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. They will be expected to participate in both local and network Gynaecology Oncology MDTs and management of the Suspected Cancer Pathways. They will be supported by cancer Nurse Specialists and admin/cancer performance team.

The proposed timetable, each week, which has some degree of flexibility will include:

Responsible for the delivery of the Transfusion service to Frimley Park Hospital and associated community hospitals, private hospitals and hospices.

The post holder will liaise with the Consultants in relation to the clinical aspects of the work and fellow Site Lead BMS's of Blood Sciences on departmental issues. They will be responsible to the Network Lead BMS with respect to the technical aspects of the job and accountable to the Specialty Lead BT Consultant for provision of the service.



The Site Lead BT BMS will be the scientific, technical and managerial lead for the Department of Blood Transfusion.

The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating a quality, efficient and timely Blood Transfusion service as requested by the service users, ensuring departmental protocols, policies and Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to and updated to comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements including UKAS and conform to ISO 15189:2022 (where applicable).

Ensure KPI targets are reviewed and adhered to such as TAT and consistency of results.

Maintain discipline and deal with grievance issues; counsel or interview as appropriate.

Participate in the selection and recruitment of new staff.

Take a leading role in the Patient Blood Management Committee, Blood Management Team and Hospital Transfusion Committee where appropriate. Participate in the Regional Transfusion Committee.

Apply technical and scientific judgement in the selection and procurement of supplies and materials.

Ensure compliance of the department and staff with Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Practice Guidelines and compliance with the Blood Safety and Quality Regulations and associated codes of practice issued by the Medicines Healthcare Regulatory Agency

Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements including UKAS ISO 15189:2022

Working with a well established team , which are currently in the process of expanding the post holder will be able to work independently, also with other team members to transfer patients to the Discharge Lounge to support with capacity and flow.

To promote and identify patients that are suitable to transfer to our new Discharge Lounge and support and encourage ward staff to utilise the Lounge and ensure patients safety and care is adhered too through the discharge planning process.

Woodlands Day Nursery is operated by Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust to support the childcare needs of staff working at Frimley Park Hospital.

The overview is to provide the following:-
• Be responsible to the Nursery Manager for the delivery of full day care to children under 5 years, in accordance with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage 2024.
• Be responsible to the Room Lead for ensuring the delivery of practices that support children’s progress, as outlined within the Early Years Outcomes, non-statutory guidance 2024.

Due to the creation of the new M-block we are looking for 2 additional Band 4 associate practitioners to join the Medical respiratory and general medical team.

Clinical

· To work as a core member of the Trust’s adult Medical Physiotherapy Team.

· To work effectively within the Trust’s wider Adult Medical Multidisciplinary Team.
