Primary key responsibilities: The following are the core responsibilities of the Medical Secretary. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently Processing referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS) Managing all enquiries in an effective manner Maintaining an accurate referrals database Helping with invoicing, banking and book keeping systems Actioning incoming email Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records Inputting data into the patients healthcare records as necessary Processing requests for information i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms Clinically coding data on Systmone Managing all administrative queries as necessary Carrying out system searches as requested Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested Secondary responsibilities: In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Medical Secretary may be requested to: Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead Produce meeting agendas and record the minutes of meetings Support reception staff, providing cover during staff absences Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota

We are looking for a part time Health Care Assistant to join our friendly NHS GP surgery situated within the Eltham Community Hospital premises next to the Eltham High Street. This will be a permanent position. Healthcare assistants (HCAs) are a vital part of the team that support the medical staff. Under the supervision and direction of qualified nursing staff, healthcare assistants carry out a wide range of duties to care for, support, and provide information to patients and their families. Responsibilities may include: Taking and recording basic observations such as blood pressure and temperature Listening and talking to patients. Healthcare assistants are often the first point of contact for a patient, so you'll need to be friendly and confident, with good interpersonal skills. You'll need to be able to put patients at their ease, helping them with their personal care while making sure they feel comfortable. Previous experience in Primary healthcare is desirable but not essential, as healthcare assistants are assessed individually to see what tasks they are competent to carry out. Training and development is available for those who want to progress - a role as a healthcare assistant can be the first step to becoming a nursing associate or a qualified nurse.

You will work alongside the Occupational Therapy team and AHP assistant practitioners, and the wider AHP team including Dietetics and Speech and Language Therapy. As well as the wider multi-disciplinary team made up Psychiatry, Nursing, Psychology, Family Therapy, Teachers and Education staff. Developing an understanding of young people's needs, through gathering information, communication and interactions with MDT and services. Developing rapport and therapeutic relationship with young people and families/carers/local teams. Engaging young people through understanding the person's strengths, interest and using meaningful activity; as an avenue to exploring functioning and supporting the young person with acquiring or developing skills. Assessment through observations and formal assessments with documenting on progress notes and collaborative care plans with young person. To develop intervention plans with opportunities for young people input and reviewing outcomes. Sharing information with the young person, family/carer and MDT, and if needed adapting outcomes/reports. Please find attached job description for full details.
