- The nurse consultant applies expert clinical knowledge to guide patient safety/clinical risk management practices with the goal of enhancing health care delivery and decreasing the risk-of adverse events.
- Utilize statistical and epidemiological tools to assist staff in the analysis of data from adverse/sentinel events, close calls/near misses, or project findings.
- Serve as a facilitator and guides patient safety review teams in the identification of the causes of adverse events as well as identifying and implementing practical, measurable, and sustainable corrective actions.
- Participate in continuous readiness projects and conducts site visits to assess organizational processes for compliance with regulatory agency and accreditation standards requirements.
- The incumbent utilizes a combination of patient safety tools and evidence-based practices to improve measures of quality and patient safety.
