• Conduct mental health and social needs assessments for people in police custody, court, or other points of contact with the criminal justice system.
• Identify mental health disorders, substance misuse, and learning disabilities, as well as social issues like homelessness, unemployment, or family problems.
• Work closely with criminal justice agencies, including police, probation services, social workers, and courts, to ensure continuity of care and to provide updates on client needs and progress.

• Plan, execute, and direct the activities of the Health Records Department.
• Serve as the Privacy Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Liaison.
• Provide health record consultation, guidance and assistance to meet requirements of accrediting agencies.
• Plan and present workshops, conferences, and training directed towards the improvement of documentation of health care.
• Provide advice regarding standards of documentation, coding and sequence of diagnosis and procedures and medico-legal issues.

• Codes diagnosis, operations, and/or procedures from the medical record. Codes complex and difficult records correctly.
• Assures the final diagnosis and operative procedures as stated by the physician are valid and complete.
• Abstracts all necessary information from the record to reflect secondary complications and co-morbid conditions.
• Assists facility staff with documentation requirements to completely and accurately reflect the patient care provided.
