Paediatric Emergency Department Health Care Assistant

Opportunity available for a Health Care Assistant to join the team within the A & E Department, Based across North West England

The team is located within the A & E with the role will be predominately providing support and care for patients with physical health needs within a multidisciplinary setting and will also consist with undertaking assigned tasks under the general supervision of a registered nurse, including assisting in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. We're currently looking for experienced qualified Emergency Medical Technicians to work out of our Cheshire and Merseyside North Sector (Liverpool). This is a permanent contract and hours will consist of shift work.

To assist in the delivery of high quality and effective pre-hospital clinical care and patient transportation, responding to 999 emergencies, inter-hospital transfers, urgent hospital admissions and other allocated patient interventions commensurate with the role and responsibilities.

To use advanced driving skills under blue light and normal traffic conditions to respond to and transport emergency and routine calls as required.

Working as a crew or solo, you will initiate appropriate care and effective treatment to patients in both hospital and pre-hospital environment, selecting and applying appropriate skills and equipment safely and within appropriate level of training, competency and scope of practice.

You must have an IHCD technician award, an Associate Ambulance Practitioner (AAP) qualification or equivalent with recent experience working in an ambulance technician or equivalent role in an NHS ambulance service to apply for this role.

This is a permanent role, looking for an experienced NMP to begin working as soon as possible.

As directed by the NMP Lead, Assistant Medical Director and the Services Medical Lead you will be part of the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team delivering recovery orientated alcohol and drug intervention services.

The Non Medical Prescriber will be responsible for:

• Assess, diagnose, plan; implement and evaluate treatment and interventions and care for service users.
• Clinically assess service user needs and plan clinical care accordingly.
• Diagnose and manage on an individual needs basis, integrating both drug and non-drug based treatment methods into a management plan, in conjunction with the Recovery Coordinator.
• Identify and assess suitability of service users for in-patient alcohol and opioid detoxification as appropriate.
• Proactively review and manage clinical treatment plans of the service user.
• Prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness appropriate to service user needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and local protocols, and within scope of practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse to develop advanced nursing skills in the management of patients in Liver Services. Working with the multidisciplinary team you will play a key role in contributing to this high quality patient centred service including organisation and participation at weekly MDT meetings and outpatient clinics. The successful candidate will have previous post registration clinical experience in the care of patients with cancer. Applicants should possess excellent literacy, communication, organisational and leadership skills and should be prepared to work within a flexible working environment. The ENB 998 and basic IT skills are required.

As part of the Gastroenterology Nursing Team you will be supported and given the opportunity to develop an understanding of the psycho-social needs of those affected by cancer, as well as developing an understanding of the importance of advanced communication skills and the application of the Supportive and Palliative care strategy (NICE 2004).

Your role will adopt a strategic approach to patient care, supporting colleagues, resulting in interventions which aim to pre-empt potential problems minimize periods of crisis for patients, and their carers. Opportunity for a a Practice Nurse to work on a Permanent Contract, Based in Liverpool

The role is based within the GP Practice with the role predominantly to provide leadership to the Junior members of the Practice Nursing Team, in collaboration with the Nurse Lead and General Practitioners, to develop an effective, quality driven Practice Nurse Service.
