To take responsibility for the organisation and day to day management of a group of patients and in time a team of nurses on the cardiac ward and CCU.

To effectively lead and be responsible for the ward team and clinical care carried out in a designated area in the absence of and in conjunction with the ward managers and deputy sisters/charge nurses.

To work in close liaison with the ward manager, Deputy sister/charge nurse, Matrons, Practice Development Team (PDT) and the Multidisciplinary Team to provide the highest quality of assessment and evaluated care required to support each patient in their care pathway improving the patient experience. Maintaining clinical credibility within the Cardiology Department and disseminate knowledge.

Peterborough Team Description Learning disability services are part of specialist services division. In this context the post holder will be working for the Peterborough part of the specialist division. Inpatient services comprise of 10 beds (currently 6 beds in operation) provided from Hollies ward, The Cavell Centre in Peterborough. The inpatient service works on acute assessment and treatment model with well-defined care pathways and was among the first few in the country to receive accreditation from the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Learning Disability Community Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Social Care staff of Peterborough Learning Disability Service are based at Sand Martin House, in Peterborough. Learning Disability Mental Health Services get 60-70 new referrals in a year. The most common reasons for these referrals are; challenging behaviour, mental disorders and epilepsy.
