Position Summary

As an EHS intern, you will gain hands-on experience working on meaningful projects, network with teammates across the organization, and learn what it is like to promote safety and sustainability in the industry. You will have the opportunity make a lasting environmental impact while developing lifelong skills and competencies to elevate your future career.
The EHS – Health & Safety intern position focuses on designing solutions to mitigate safety hazards in the workplace and broader community. An EHS intern position applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and must be able to explain facts, policies, and practices related to the job area.
EHS – Health & Safety Interns typically:
Work on problems of limited scope and contribute on projects or processes while receiving detailed instructions from higher-level professionals.
Develop and implement policies and practices to mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace.
Identify potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions.
Investigate accidents and collaborate with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence.
Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies.
Assist in delivering training, learning, and development requirements to employees.

Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you need…
To be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Occupational Health Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Technology, or another applicable major and actively enrolled in an accredited university the semester prior to your start date.
To be sophomore-senior level standing with a GPA of at least 3.0
To be available to work 40 hours weekly in a 12-week internship assignment.
No other work experience is required. We will teach you everything you need to know!
