We are a busy Technical Services Unit within the Pharmacy Department at York Hospital. Our aseptic services unit is a specialised service preparing bespoke chemotherapy, Monoclonal Antibodies as well as some Parenteral Nutrition products and a small range of other IV products.

Suitable candidates would be required to work in a cleanroom environment where duties are interesting and varied. Duties range from cleaning, maintaining, and monitoring of the cleanroom environment and equipment and stock management of drugs and consumables.

Applicants must also hold GCSE’s in maths and English language (or equivalent) at Grades C/4 or above.

You will be required to participate in the aseptic preparation of medicines. This involves working at a pharmaceutical isolator preparing a range of intravenous medication. Full training will be given.

You will also be required to participate in the decontamination and disinfection of the aseptic unit. The aseptic unit is a sterile, clean room environment where the preparation of pharmaceutical products takes place. You will also undertake some environmental monitoring duties which are essential in ensuring that the environment remains in a controlled state.

There are also administration tasks to undertake as well as stock management activities such as stock checks, receipt of stock and expiry date checks. We are looking for a conscientious individual who will take a methodical approach to a task and who appreciates the importance of following procedures.

The entry banding for this role is either a Band 2 or Band 3. This is dependent on prior Pharmacy qualifications and experience. This will be discussed at Interview. Once fully trained and qualified the post will be a Band 3. This is a fulfilling role in itself but it is also a great steppingstone into Pharmacy with many different opportunities for career development.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy technician to join the Pharmacy Quality Assurance team based at York Hospital.

The Quality Assurance Team ensures that the quality of pharmacy services is effectively monitored and continually improves. As a member of this team, you will help implement and maintain all aspects of the pharmacy quality management system. You will monitor, test and maintain assets, such as the Trust fridge temperature monitoring and delivery systems. You will monitor the safe use of medical gases throughout the Trust. You will undertake and review audits and self-inspections for pharmacy services and the use of medicines. As a Senior Radiographer at our York Hospital, you'll have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification and high levels of technical knowledge. Ideally, you'll also have Radiation Protection Supervisor training and qualification, as well as the ability to work accurately and compassionately.

As a Senior MRI Radiographer, you will:

You must be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users. You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers.

In return, you will receive regular appraisal, clinical, management and caseload supervision and will benefit from the support of an experienced and committed multi-disciplinary leadership team, including the Team Manager and the Advanced Practitioner.
