About the roleReporting to the Vice Principal: Finance and Professional Services, you will lead our small Health, Safety and Advisory Team to deliver a high quality Health and Safety Advisory Service in the College. You will advise and support all staff and managers on health and safety matters to ensure that the College environment is a safe and healthy place for all students, staff and other users.
Specific duties include chairing the Health and Safety Committee, and preparing health and safety reports as required for the Strategic Leadership Team and Governors. You will work closely and liaise with curriculum and support teams to ensure a high standard of health and safety, including carrying out specialist risk assessments and to advise and support others on the production of risk assessments. You will develop and maintain Health and Safety policies and procedures, and work with employers to ensure that student work placements are safe, are monitored regularly and appropriate documentation is maintained. About the personWith an ability to promote a positive health and safety culture amongst staff, employers and students, you will possess the NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent, and have excellent knowledge of current health and safety legislation and proposed developments. Experience delivering health and safety advice within an educational environment is desirable, but not essential. You will be approachable and able to work with staff at all levels and possess an ability to influence people even those where there is no line management responsibility.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Manage all general maintenance activities.  This includes but is not limited to general mechanical equipment/systems, boiler plant facilities, fire alarm systems, grounds keeping, painting, and general laboring.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Prior job related experience of at least 3- 5 years.
